Why is Joe polish seen in such a negative light? I cannot find much but positive reviews of his methods. I am asking a sincere question here, and really do not know.
I am in need of some marketing materials and was about to purchase his 16 cd set.
If not his stuff, what would you recommend as an effective marketing setup?
Thanks all!

Whatever you can buy from Joe, you can find elsewhere, sometimes for free. His ideas are not new, they've been around for years. Some of his stuff is Dan Kennedy's and other "marketing gurus" ideas recycled.

The biggest PITA about Joe is once you buy his program(like I did in '95) he never stops hounding you to buy more stuff. Phone calls, emails, junk mail. It never ends. It's downright annoying!!!!!Wacko

cmaster, Is there anything you would recommen, I am speaking of residential specifically. I already have commercial accounts, and will continue to build there, I have found that person to person, cold calling is BY FAR the most effective there, at least for me.

Have you tried marketing residential services to your current commercial customers? They have to live somewhere. You could offer a discount to all employees in an office, restaurant or hotel that you clean. You could also ask them to refer you to their friends and familyBig%20smile

All good calls. I haven't, and will. I guess, I am trying the whole moving forward by "standing on the shoulders of Giants" approach, especially in the areas such as marketing that can be more time and money consumptive.
Again thank-you!

Whatever you do to gain market share, consider examining the ROI.
Don't fall in love with any idea you have.  Be flexible enough to change or ditch any idea.
Business marketing is about learning from results.
Remember that only the mentally deranged repeat the same action expecting a different result.
And with confidence in your offerings, complete the sentence:  You should choose me as your long term carpet care specialist because....

But you knew all this so you can take any idea you have and run with it.  Just doing something is better than thoughts with no action.

My two cents.
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

The internet is full of marketing information that is free. The hard part is a lot of people have a hard time figuring out how to implement these ideas into their business.

I used to have a real hard time doing this.

The good thing about Joe is that he focuses all of his "rehashed" techniques on the carpet cleaning industry. Seeing these tactics applied to a like service will cause a mental bridge helping people adapt the basic principles much easier.

I have seen some of the Piranha stuff and it seems pretty good. Joe is also a protege of Dan Kennedy who is one of the best small business marketers out there.

Joe is a very good marketer, that said he does have some lack-luster products (as does Dan Kennedy)

Marketing is very easy to read about but not so easy to apply. I would research Joe's stuff and buy what best suited my situation. It is all guaranteed and unlike what was mentioned earlier, you can opt out of any future communications from Piranha at any time.

I buy marketing products all the time and they have literally changed my life.

His stuff is CC specific and you can use it off the shelf. Some do have a negative view of him, but some will have of anybody, that's life.

What most people need more than marketing 'techniques' is a change in their beliefs about what they can achieve and the big one, MONEY.
