Imagine you are receiving oral sex.  You achieve a point where she sucks hard and not much happens. She has  a lot of lift but not much suction.  If she opens her mouth just slightly (The Glide) and air flow restarts, then she has  increased the CFMs. Her suction will increase major by just allowing a bit of air to pass by your wand.  Thus everyone is happy and the cfms are cruising at a velocity we all like.  Wink

Hillarious! Now I completely understand!

Yeah 17k from 6 k is a HUGE jump. My partner doesn't mind kicking down the money, or financing if it's worth it. Sounds like it is ... so we're going for it.

17k included instalation. 250 ft. of hose, wand, reel, pretty much everything I needed to get going. Is that still too high?

Thanks again for the help.

As far as start ups go and getting money for cashflow, equipment etc. It's really not too tough. Money is everywhere! Tons and tons of it. Teh people who have the cash are looking to make more off of it. They're not keeping it all in a pile in the basement with a diving board to jump in it like old "Uncle Scrooge" did.

Find the people with the cash. (Not too tough, just look for the huge houses! That's a good place to start.) Strap on your pair of gonads and go sell the heck out of yourself. Ask for 50k, don't blink an eye, and be ready to PROVE to them how they will make AT LEAST 20% annual return on their money by making them a percentage silent owner. Either that, or go for having them give you a regular loan at say 8% ... would likely end up closer to 10-12% but start at 8%.

It's actually a great time to find private investors right now. Real estate sucks, stock market is wildly unpredictable right now, and likely will be until at least the next 12 months.

Be creative. Sell yourself. Make it win, win, and you can't lose.

When I started, I borrowed $5,000 from a private investor and promised $6,000 a year later. No problem. He wants to do it again whenever I'm ready, and I've got another guy who's good 10K or so. I'm getting a new van in a few months. Money will be tight, and credit cards suck. Borrowing a few g's for a wrap and some other marketing might be just the thing. I've thought about larger private loans, but most want to be silent partners. That's a big can of worms. No thanks!

Me and my partner have decent jobs so were not just carpet cleaning. Im mid level ranked in the Air Force and he's been working for pepsi for 8 years or so....So its not like we depend on the carpet cleaning funds to get financing

Some car dealers will put the van+equipment on one loan.

That doesn't sound bad to me... but what do I know? I bought a brand new Panther 25, 250 ft. of hose, reel, alluminum shelve, wand, stair wand, upholstery wand, installation and chemtex tile tool for about $15,000. I got lucky though.. Victor is a friend of a woman who I know who's been a customer of his for 20 years (and I've known her for 10 of those years) so he financed it for me at no interest!!! (50% down though).

I have to be honest though... the Panthers are not the best units around, but they work. For the price and the financing though.. for a first truck mount.. I think I got a good deal!

I had a 20hp panther back in the late 90's.. Ran pretty good.. Overheated and popped a thermal relief valve one time.. Otherwise it had great vac power.. LP for heat..  Big%20smile  Never had any other problems.. But only had it for about 1.5yrs..
