Michael, 100% right on . and I use a fresh water rinse.
if the going gets tough on trashed carpet I mix equal parts of procyon with an Oxy booster. Dwell time of 10-15 minutes is a must and the results have been great for 25 plus years. Procyon is SOAP FREE and does a great job! |

Michael,
I've done Bonnett cleaning with procyon and it always left the carpet fairly residue free and soft . So I figured rinsing with Procyon would be a good idea. Why would that be wrong? Barry |

I'm sure it does a decent job, but 1) you're leaving more solution in the carpet when rinsing that bonneting; 2) prespraying means dwell time, allowing the chemical to do labor-free work 3) you'll use less cleaning solution doing a good prespray and rinsing with water, and it will do just as well. That's just my $.02, it always comes down to what works for you. Speaking for myself, as much as I like Procyon, I think Chemspec's DFC line is just as good, and it's tough to beat 17.00 per gallon for HD DFC and under 10.00 per gallon for 105.

Michael,
I'm using a Rotary Drimaster tool so I'm not leaving that much solution in the carpet. Carpet dries in one hour after I finish. I like the chemspec DFC too but often when I order some from Jon Don the idiots send me Chemspec Dry Fabric Cleaner even when I specify that I want DFC 105. Happened just the other day. Barry |

Sounds like you have a your system, Barry. All power to you until you find something you like better. I was interested in the Drimaster, but my business partner wanted the RX-20 because we already had lots of experience with it. I caved. I still wonder if we would have been better off.
