I want to be as honest as possible with my next statment, that way you guys can tell me what you think....I've been in the business for 7 months, got 2 restuarants I clean for and get 1 or 2 new customers that I clean for by word of mouth each month. I have $3500 in savings. I have $2200 in expenses each month.  I have a full time job right now making $12.00 an hour.  I don't have alot of time to get new business because of my fulltime job.  Now I've been thinking of going fulltime at this, because I think that if I go fulltime carpet cleaning then I will be able to atleast cover my expenses, but I'm not sure if its the right time to go for it, with the cold season coming up.  What do you guys think, should I go for it now or wait for spring to come back around?

Wait for the spring.Winter can be brutal even for the established cleaner. Save some money for advertising, as well start cold calling throughout the winter. Do your market research and demographics for the area that you live in. Check out this board and others for advertising ideas for what works and what doesn't. What ever you decide to do good luck to you.
Could somebody just clean my carpets!

Ream57,

At $12.00 per/hr. in a 40 hr. work week you may take home less than $400.00

One good job or two medium jobs will give you that. Take the bull by the horns, shake the bushes, beat the concrete and don't look back.

If you do not have that kind of drive stay at the job.
