Use Citrus-Solv or De-Liminate in your prespray. It cuts grease and oily deposits. Be careful using it on olefin, though.

stevnlevine,

The only thing you may have been able to do is scrub it electrically as opposed to hand scrub. The carpet may have been Olifin that loves oil and does not like releasing it readily. In this case an Olifin pre-spray would help. At this point I would re-clean the area with an OP cotton pad system that will further clean the surface. If you keep steam cleaning it will just keep bringing up more oil to the surface.

Cases like these you can bring out the High PH prespray and nuke the place. Just spray it down real good and whip out the 175 rotary and scrub it like mad! (grandi groomer aint gonna cut it here).

The other day I was faced with either motor oil, or black grease, or just a lot of black dirt, tracked onto carpeted stairs and room carpeting. Mostly in traffic lane areas. I used Prochem's Axiom Clean Pre-spray applied at high temp. I next manually worked it in with a rake for a good 20 minutes. I then exracted with my MYTEE 1001 DX 200 at full temp (200F)using Axiom Extraction Detergent. I then triple extracted the traffic lanes and stairs.

Most of the carpet looked great. The traffic lanes still had about 25% of the black soil. Was it my chemical's "green-ness" that limited their ability? Would non green chemicals done a better job?If so can you recommend something non green, and stronger(from Prochem or other readily available brand)? Was it my machines power limitations? Or was it bad technique? Or a combination of all 3?
