Types of Pads

I use 100% microfibre but they're blue and not cheap.

Poly Pad
(Smoke)
Fine for a scrub and run on commercial carpets, don't use on residential carpet though, will cause you grief.


Synthetic Bonnet 'Thin'
(Smoke & Mirrors)
Good for commercial carpet scrub and run or prescrub then followed by cotton to pick up soil

Synthetic Bonnet 'Thick'
(Less Smoke & Mirrors)
No good for OP at all!

100% Cotton 'Thin Pad'
(Offers a serious cleaning job)
Good cleaning, not great, still too thick and heavy, thin or supple pads are best for cleaning depth.

Not good for OP, this type pad will work OK on rotary, but not good for OP.

Cotton & Microfiber
Tried these, they are good for soft carpets such as wool berbers and frieze type carpets, however, the pick up is not really that good because OP and microfiber work as opposing composites. Micro fiber is very absorbant, but will not hold in the soil under OP nearly as well because of the intense oscillation which sort of beat it back out.

100% cotton terri has long been the best type pad for OP'ing, but because some people are careless or don't pay attention to what they are doing they "can" cause damage such as tip blooming.

We have (and I will call you about these Ted) a newly designed pad coming out in approx. 2 months. It will be a blend of fibers, it lasts MUCH longer than any cotton type pad on the market, it makes the machine manuever MUCH easier, it can clean the softest carpets with no damage fears, it is extreemly suppel so it clean DEEP,it holds as much soil as approx 2-3 of the cotton pads we currently use, it will be replacing all of our current cotton pads.

The new pads also make bonneting with a rotary MUCH more effective and yet last well under the rotary action.

This new pad has been designed to counter all this SOA bs that is going on, we will prove OP is not harmful, we will prove it cleans as well and often better than HWE and we will work at getting the mills to recognize OP as not only a great completment as a tool and method to your arsenal, but that it is also a totally stand alone method.

OP, has always gotten a bad press from the hwe crowd, but on head to head competition, people can see that it is ONLY bad press, and has little or nothing to do with reality.
