I am helping out another local carpet cleaner who overbooked himself. How should we split the jobs? His clients, my equipment, gas & chemicals. I appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks! |

i'd give him 10%
after all your doing him a favor;
![]() or reverse the situation,
if he were to help you out
how much would you expect from him?
then give the same ;
the old do to others as you want done to you! ![]() Edited by kane - 07/June/2006 at 8:56pm |

I often get business from a fellow competitor, we get along well and have the following arrangement.
When he refers a customer that he doesn't have time for I try to fit them in if i can , If so i tell the customer that I am doing this as a favor to Tom and that if you were satisfied with Tom's cleaning before that you return to him next time if they so wish. This way he has a chance to save a customer from slipping over to the other 20 cleaners in town and he may get them back again. Same goes for me . I refer overbooks to him. I bring him several packages of good steaks about 3 times a year out of appreciation. It's all GOOD! Edited by danmarck82 - 08/June/2006 at 12:19am |

I used to give out work many a time.......if the guy had his own equipment, and paid his own gas and chemicals........I paid out 75 % of the contract

In our area there are several cleaners that bounce clients back and
forth to each other on a regular basis. We don't charge eachother
a referal fee.
If you and the other cleaners exchange a simliar number of clients, and pay eachother a similar cut... It pretty much evens out. |
