Hey all,
I've been a Carpet Cleaner Helper for a few months. I pretty much do all the spraying & steaming while the boss talks to the home owners. I really only know the manual labor side of the business and not the technical aspect, e.g., what kind of truck mounts are best etc.
I've been thinking about starting my own lil' carpet cleaning business while I finish up school. Will someone here please explain the following machine to me? Is this good enough to tackle homes AND do a good job? If not, please explain why so that I may learn more!
Thanks all!

The money is not in the cleaning of the carpets. the money is in the MARKETING of the cleaning of the carpets. Big Difference. Spend your time learning the marketing. If you can't do that well forget about getting into the carpet cleaning business. You will just be taking on a very hard job with very little financial reward to show for it.

I could never understand them lil machines.........too small to leave in the truck too freakin heavy to be portable
and I wouldn't run it inside anyways
heck I bet my porty has as much suction as that thing
you should try and find a good used TM IMHO,,,,,,even if it's a smaller one like a Prochem Blazer etc.

I do understand the mass importance of marketing; I'm not too worried about that part of the business. I just want to make sure that I have the tools to do a good job.
Could someone please explain why a machine like this wouldn't be apt on doing a good job? Just don't answer "no", but tell me why...

Many people have reported reliability problems with this machine and service problems with this company. I hear it often.
What you need to do is hear it yourself BEFORE you invest in this equipment. Go to major boards like ICS and TMF and use the search function there. Punch in Chem-tex. You will get the answers you need. ![]() |
