Hello All!
I first cleaned carpet about 18 years ago. I worked for a franchised outfit that emphasized dyeing. The cleaning method they employed was a rotary shampooing machine followed by a rinse-n-vac portable extractor. (It was a temp job for me, just something between high school and college.) Several years later, I again found myself working for the same company. Only this time, they were using Truck Mount HWE systems. Having been exposed to both, I much preferred the Truck Mount. That was more than a decade ago. For the last 10 years I have been an electronics technician. I am tired of this industry and I want to get back to carpet cleaning. However, I want to run my own business. (I have moved and will not be competing against the aforemention previous employer.) I have seen a lot of people arguing over TM vs Bonnet. I have read some promotional material on Bonnet machines/systems. (It is difficult to find unbiased information.) I have also recently seen information about oscillating pad machines. I would like some input from owner/operators who use oscillating pad machines: What equipment and chemicals do yourecommend? How long have you used OP? Have you ever used TMs? What can I expect in operating costs? I am trying to avoid franchises and "package deals" in an effort to reduce my start up costs. My plan is to start part-time (evenings and weekends, until I can establish a good reputation) and hopefully go full time in 12 months or less. All input is welcomed. Please no TM HWE vs Bonnet arguments here. I'll seek advice from you TM guys later. Edited by R_Shack - 07/August/2006 at 1:07pm |

You'll get the best feedback in the Bonnet and OP section.
