Did the 1827 Ole Kentucky Capitol building today, it has very old Wilton Wool carpets in it and they couldnt' find anyone willing to accept the liablity of cleaning them. So it has been ten years since they were last cleaned. We used WHAMM and did 7000 square feet in 6 man hours. @ .20 a foot= $1400.00 We went though 20 gallons of encap solution, cleaned with pads just out of the washer...ie just damp. They moved all the 150 year old furniture from the old senate room and house of representative room, so we had no furniture to mess with. We had to sign off on the liability and accept responsiblity for any damage to the carpets... Long story short (for Marty) they were extreemly pleased, looks like we will get a newspaper article on this one! Oh, we used 2 17" brutes and one 20" Brute plus we needed a 15" breeze to do by the pews where the public sat, plus the stepson on the several stairs we had to do. Here are some pics of the carpet AND the building, very interesting place. http://www.geurkink.com/images/cap02.jpg http://www.geurkink.com/images/cap05.jpg http://www.geurkink.com/images/cap16.jpg |
