Guess this is my intro... Been cleaning carpets for nearly 5 years now. Seems like there is something new to learn from each job performed and hoping to gleam some words of wisdom from those who have been here much longer then I. Working primarily from a Mytee portable and a Rotovac, been very hesitant about making the jump to a truck mount. I understand that a truck mount would make things easier and much more convenient. Also thinking about upgrading my current portable equipment without making the dedicated hop to a truck, Anyone have any words of discernment or insight that might shed some light on this decisions? Thank you in advance for your help and understanding.

You can't go wrong with the mytee machines. Depending which one you have you might look at the breeze, m-5 etc. Don't jump into a truck mount and get in trouble with the money it costs to get started. That's just MO.

You can do a trailer setup with your porty there. A vac booster and propane heater, combined with clean and dirty water containers and a generator to power the whole thing and what you have is a rig that would be at a lower cost than the jump to a truckmount with performance that would probably amaze you.
There are pictures on here and links to youtube videos demonstrating such a rig. Me, mostly bonnet, but I am putting the Rotovac and Mytee back into the operation with a stronger pump and a vac booster plus 50' more of hose. It is just a step up from what I had been doing with a 25' hose. Nothing grand, just a good upsell from the VLM method. |

In many situations, combining both VLM with HWE seems to have amazing outcomes, mainly on stairways. Upgraded the standard 1 1/2“ hose that came with the Mytee to a 2“ hose and saw some dramatic performance increase in over-all air volume. Been playing with some of that Sponge Master powder from Master Blend, dumping it on stairways, scrubbing it in an hour or so before I pre-spray and HWE. Any words of advice concerning hybrid techniques that may increase performance?

low foam shampoo, work it in with a hand brush or steambrite has a brush you can use with 1/2" electric drill. Rinse with the HWE using an upholstery or better yet a stair tool.

I always used truck-mounts to clean you can find a used truck-mount fairly reasonable you need to search for it. I also started to use encapsulation cleaning in commercial I found it to work better than steam . I am still trying to find a good method for residential beside steam cleaning that cleans the fiber deep and all sides |

A friend of mine just copped a 3.2 in a 91 G20 for $2600. Upgraded from his Mytee
and he loves it. I upped my porty by adding another HP 3 stage, elec.heat, generator 2" hoses but it dont hold a candle to my TM but it gets the job done. Your porty upgrade could cost as much as a used entry level TM. Good Luck.
