Please excuse my lack of knowledge here, but I am wondering about a propane heater mounted on a hand truck so you can take it in or leave it outside. Made by Little Giant, are they good , worth the $ and please describe opperation, I assume water is heated and then sent to the porty, can they keep up? and is it easy to use without if not needed? sorry if these are dumb ?'s but it seems like a good idea.
Thanks

Kojak8 the little giant propane heaters work very well and are a great addition to a portable extractor. The water is sent from the extractor through the heater and on to your wand. The reason for mounting the heater on a dolly is for easily taking it out of your vehicle and/or hanging from a door on a van. These heaters must have ventilation and cannot be taken inside a residence or building. I would suggest you contacting Jan Sullins at Damien71@cox.net he is an expert on these heaters and just happens to sell them. I purchased the 65,000 btu heater from Jan and I am very glad I did because I have had alot of questions and he has always been very happy to help. I know another person that bought the little giant 120,000 btu heater from Jan and he is so happy with it I almost wish I would have went with it instead of the 65,000 btu but really what I have works just fine. If you haven't already done so go to the little giant mfg website and check out the different sizes and capabilities then send Jan an email if your still interested. Also you might want to check out the "all things recoil" message board as there are alot of posts concerning these heaters.

thank you dunlap for your response. if it goes extractor to heater do you lose psi by the time it gets to the wand? what if you have 500psi, will it support that much?
Thanks

I can tell absolutely no difference in pressure, if you lose any at all it is very little. I usually run between 350-400 psi but the heater will have no problems at 500 psi. I believe they are rated/tested up to 1000 psi but check with Jan to be sure.

Ed, since I added the propane heater to the recoil it absolutely rocks. I have never owned a tm so I can't do a comparison but I can say the recoil 3 xps has plenty of vacuum to get the job done. As you know I set the recoil up as a "truckmount" and so far I am extremely happy with the results. I did a job today with 100' of 2" hose and 35' of 1.5" hose flipped on the built in power booster and it did a terrific job. I didn't even use the additional Cross American pass thru power booster I own because the recoil handled just fine without it. The 500 psi pump is equally as impressive as the vac. At the risk of sounding like a certain solus fan I will leave it at that but yes Jan sold me a terrific system and just as important Jan has answered the phone every time I called and trust me I have called him alot.
