Doug, make sure to charge MORE for padding, that will make the selling of it easier. 25-30% more, if your customers KNOW you are a great HWE guy and then you offer two methods for the same price, they will go with the one they know YOU have the most experience with, however if you charge MORE for the new service they will know you believe in it and will much more apt to give it a try.

Doug, I am very impressed with your openness in trying something new
with the pad method. did you go with an OP machine? Was it the show on the 19th that convinced you? I have only seen encapsulation one time so I am just learning. So any feedback you can give an old HWE guy will be appreciated. I have a feeling the only thing for sure in this business in the next several years is going to be change. |

Ted's show played a great role in assisting me with my decision to purchase the unit. The fact that John was sending two goons up to my place to make me a pair of cement overshoes played a part also.(Not true.) I was impressed what his machine could do. Seeing is believing. But don't get me wrong here. Everyone seems to think I am against all methods except for HWE, not so. I can't help it if it is the superior cleaning method. That said it is not the other methods that concern me because they all have a place. The fact that most operators do not know the limitations of there systems is where the problems lie. danmark, I am going to quit for now. I usually run on too long and end up ruffling someone's feathers and I believe when I am involved that is considered flaming.

knowing your methods limitations.....You are exactly right Doug .
I don't think it's another cleaner that is going to run an established cleaner out of business....It will more likely be his or her unwillingness to except changes that take place in the industry and adapt. IMO The more you know about each method the better prepared we are to make better decisions..... and be ready for change. The future is going to be exciting !!! |

Yes, seeing is believing. I had plenty of doubts about OP cleaning until testing for my self. Same with encp cleaning, it just sounded incredible. Don't take anyone's word for anything, do your own testing !! By the time most folks get to Doug's great age, they are too set in their ways to have an open mind, he's an exceptional old man....
