I have been working part-time with a carpet cleaning company on Vancouver Island for about three months.  My boss, who is the hardest-working man I've ever met, keeps buying new equipment for his already very successful business.  The latest hardware is the rugsucker system, which he has purchased for his shop.  The rugsucker system involves filling up various sized marinator ponds (huge space requirement), filling them with water, then incorporating the rugsucker system (see it in action here: https://youtu.be/Gpn0Vjssw64).  Before this, we were using a truck mounted vaccuum to do the rugs (boss has an extra van with a very good truckmount vaccuum system).  Yesterday, whilst demonstrating how to use this new system, I was shocked to see the time to clean a rug rise more than double, it took well over an hour to implement this new system for one 6x4 rug.

My job is to implement an efficient workflow in what I regard to be a messy shop (too much equipment!).  Now that I am familiar with the truck-mount cleaning system, which works very well and allows a high level of production, boss is insisting on this new, cludgy, water-wasteful system.  Takes up a lot of room, uses a lot of water, involves a lot of kneeling and squatting, and takes twice as long to clean a rug!  I can see using it for vomit and urine stains, but for average rug, it just doesn't seem worth the effort, cost, or space.  Anyone else using this system?  Would love some feedback.
