You have car insurance because the company knows you have a drivers licience and assume you are a good driver ( I.m sure they checked your driving record before insuring you anyway ) Commercial liabilty insurance works basically on the same system, except they have to take your word on the matter of expertise, with that said, if the claim is big enough , I am sure 100% they will not want to pay, and at that point all the questions will surface as far as your competence .
How many years, or better still how many carpets have you actually cleaned, mention if they were residental or commercial. As far as your questions go, it seems that you are using carpet cleaning forums to aquire your experience, RATHER THAN DOING THE ACTUAL WORK. Theory is only as good as the author who wrote it .

Nova.....you remind me of a guy I once met while I was paying for some traffic tickets that were overdue.....he was at the court waiting for the judge to hear his case against a painter that had an aggressive advertising campagne promoting himself as a painter & gyproc specialist. Although he was well equipped with all the tool needed, he lacked one important tool..... & that was EDUCATION, the the EXPERTISE of his craft. He did not know how to paint, let alone gyproc repair and caused more damage than anything else. The moral of this story is.....Nova, go work for a carpet cleaning company, get your experience, then go out on your own. If you damage a customers wool carpet.....That will cost you thousands to replace.

I post steps for carpet cleaning. feel free to correct me if I wrong I`m just beginner
1. carpet need to be vacuumed 2. pretreatment most of the cases 3. remove spots if any (I`m not sure should i agitate before or after spot removal. i guess its not that important) 4. wash the carpet with wand 5. I will do extra extraction since I`m using RV. 6. Groom it to better drying. 7. if I use schotchgad should i use it before or after grooming so its half question writing
