With house prices in the GTA falling a record amount these last few months, how much longer will Steamer be able to live in a 1 Million dollar house? Will he have to go back to doing driveby cleanings or cut his prices and work 18 hours a day to get by?

Typical Kenny "logic," which reflects an abnormally bad ignorace of very basic economics.

Whatever the price of Steamer's house is, he is ALREADY in it and able to afford it. It wouldn't matter if the value fell to $0, because his payments (if it isn't paid for) aren't increased by lower values. In fact, he can probably look forward to reduced property taxes.

On the other hand, if values fall far enough, he may be able to afford a couple more.

Steamer is doing just fine....

it's busy .....

I bought a house with all the bells and whistles..so I don't ever plan to more for at least 25 to 35 years..

I have great investments making me money

I'm playing the forex with great success...

GTA is the place to be..in a recession proof business..with over 2 million homes in my area..

if they didn't have Oil where you are in Calgary it would just be a place where a road ran to either go to BC or the other way to Ontario.

I heard from a relative in Calgary that they're not exactly "booming" right now either.

does that mean Ken has to lower the prices on glides in his home town???

Things are NOT booming in Alberta Andy, and are unlikely to for the next 4 years. Now that Obama is in, he has already made it quite clear that he will be controlling CO2 emissions. That means the oil sands oil will need to be cut back sharply, due to the 3X higher CO2 it produces.

Recession is coming to Alberta, if not Depression. Most of the people of this province do not understand that yet. So Ontario and Alberta will soon be in the same boat economically.
