Was looking at adding a Kunkle valve. Has any one used one, and what do you think of it.

They are not adjustable. We use them as well. You buy the one that has the set point you want. Do not order above 15"HG however, unless you are using water injection on your blower. You dont want seal problems down the road.

If you call Greenie, he will tell you what valve will work best with your unit. It will cost you between $250-$350 for the valve.

Why not just tighten up your vac relief valve..? Run 2.5 hose or the Wye deal.. What are you running bryan..?

That does not work john. A non Kunkle valve starts leaking air as low as 7"HG. Those other devices are not effective if you are losing up to 40% of your vacuum potential. Put the Kunkle in place FIRST, then you will have real power potential. Just don't let a window washer tell you how to do it. I guarantee he will not pay you to replace your engine goes goes down from following his "recommondation" of how you should do it. ![]() Edited by Superglide Ken - 19/March/2008 at 11:27am |

OK Ken.. If you did tighten the relief valve you wouldn't know when it would open vs the kunkle being more accurate at 14 or 15 HGs.. And probably faster wear and tear on the belts.. |
