ok, I'll admit I have a bane clene,an old prochem tm. I also have 3 ninjas and an eclipse...now my question is this. I need another power porty..recoil or the new quad vac eclipse. Ed's recoil lists high cfm, but that's just to run long hoses..the eclipse lists 340" lift..That's what gets the dirty water out...what do you guys think...I can get the quad vac eclipse,500psi,auto fill, auto dump, and chem feed under 3k.

I wouldn't touch an Eclipse for even $300, unless I just wanted the parts. With that cfm, you won't get that waterlift unless your hand is over the end of the hose. The cfm is only 100. That's horrible.

I have a recoil and had looked at the Eclipse but think about this, the recoil XPS can run long lengths of 2" hose due to the higher CFM's. From what I remember the Eclipse runs 1.5" hose and 25'. Wouldn't you rather leave your portable in one room and just run hose? No lugging the machine upstairs room to room, One of the best purchase I've made, plus customer support is second to none.

Jeff, I am at a point wherein I am giving thought to a new porty. I run a mytee now with external heat when I need to really wash/flush something out. I also own but rarely use a Rotovac.
I am mainly a Pad guy but use HWE when needed. I have been looking at the demon (Rick) but have held off until I am abslotely sure what I want. I plan on driving more urin business and trashed out rental properties.... Can you share a bit more about how well your porty does regarding really dirty carpets? do you leave your unit outside? |

(...."high cfm, but that's just to run long hoses...")
That statement is absolutely false. HIGH CFM/AIRFLOW that moves air extremely fast through a hose WILL ALSO carry the dirt along with it. Think of a Toronado that has airflow so strong that it will even pick up homes, cars, and anything else that may stand in its path. Happy New Year! Ed Valentine cross-american corp. |

I had a King Cobra with auto fill auto dump, pain in the butt dealing with cords, and then hoses on top of it and making sure the auto dump wasn't leaking someplace. Keep it simple. On's Ed's units by the time your tank is empty your heated water will be cooler anyway, gives you the opprtunity to add fresh HOT water, just my opinion.

Jeff, it is YOUR opinions I wanted too. Thanks man.
I have thought about the demon but really want something I can use across the board so-to-speak. I have an external heater...might even jump to propane latter. I want to be able to flush out carpets when I need to. Mix and match both sides..OP and HWE. |

Thats the system I'm currently using OP, HWE,and Cimex, covers pretty much all the bases. Exterior in line heater I have one Hydroforce 2000 not real good at heating when pushing 300-500 psi can't keep up with it. I usally fill the solution tank then vacuum bring in the rest of the equipment and I'm good and hot, seems to work well I use cross americans Formula 1 alot really like it, on real nasty's I boost with Oxi Blaster nice combo

"you must also balance the lift for the amount of dirt it will lift..period. "
________________________________________________________ The definition of the word; balance, does not necessarily mean "equal" amounts. At least not in this particular situation. YES, the RECOIL does have water-lift as well as CFM/Airflow; however, our emphasis is on Air-flow. And, I might add the most important aspect and theory that exceeds the honorable Professor's at Rutger: IT IS A PROVEN system for over 37 years. Happy new Year! Ed Valentine |

Did your professors say what this balance/ratio is of lift:cfm?
The one reason I'm almost certain that cfm's will be higher is just
look at truckmounts. The lift on those things are in the 13-15 hg
range often times, which is around 175-200" of lift. Yet the
cfm's go as high as 650. Running at higher hg's is not
recommended, nor necessary.
