Guys,
What Pre spray/ Detergents combinations are You using? I'm soon buying A Cross American Portable and getting more into Extraction cleaning in my commercial accounts and I need to decide what chemicals I'm going to be using. I'm currently using Chemiester's Master Extractor in my porable and pre spraying with Chemspec One Clean TLC but I'm considering others. Would an Acid rinse work well with the 500 PSI Cross American Unit and a Rotary Drimaster tool? Barry Edited by Laserman - 15/December/2007 at 11:30am |

Acid rinses are way overrated for every day cleaning. Use a good emulsifier

Chemspec one clean is garbage, Prekleen is way better and safe on 5th generation, liquid 90 is a good emulsifier also. Prochem also makes good products

Laserman The best advice I have always given, is purchase your chemical products from the same source as your purchase of equipment. Down the road if you should have an issue over repairs and warranty, no one can blame it on the chemicals you are using since they recommended it for you to use. My favorite these days is |

Good choice of machines. That tank size and the extra power will pay off.

Liquid Formula 90 is one of the detergents I was considering. Kind of Expensive but it is highly concentrated and would save $ in shipping in the end. Almost all of my work with the Portable will be unoccupied condo units on the beach so a Higher PH is OK but I will run into Wool Oriental Rugs from time to time. Wouldn't the 10 PH of Formula 90 be pushing it on Wool Rugs? Barry |

I've been doing a sort of Chem-Dry imatation low moisture Bonnet cleaning process since 1999. I've been using my Galaxy Portable this fall for my condo accounts doing the deep cleans before snow birds fill up the condos for the winter since drying time is not an issue. I figured this would rinse the residues better. This style of carpet cleaning in the beach condos has been widely popular for quite a while but has slowly been giving way to Hot water extraction in the last year. This is why I'm now moving in that direction. One thing I've never understood is why using a Pre-spray and rinsing with a detergent doesn't leave a dirt atttracting residue? Can somebody explain why this is so? Seems to me that soap on top of soap would leave a soapy residue. What about soap free rinse cleaners such as Procyon, Chemspec DFC, Bridgepoint Prolon ect ect? I tried rinsing with the DFC and it didn't do too well. Could it be because my Galaxy Portable is only a 200 PSI unit?

You may leave a residue, but if it's not sticky, it won't attract soil and will be vacuumed away by the occupant. Assuming that they vacuum occasionally |

Your prespray is your most important chem.. emulsifiers which give a extra kick in the cleaning are so diluted in your 5 gal chem jug they leave microscopic residue which will dry to a flake and then vaced off by the customer.. So your not leaving soap on soap.. Well maybe some are but not me..Your flushing/rinsing the soap out..

I'm currently prespraying with HD DFC and rinsing with DFC 101. Works great for me, so I'm not sure what problem you're having. How's your heat? Procyon is also an excellent cleaner. What type of carpet is in most of these condos? If you're encountering a lot of olefin, then maybe you should stock something made for olefin. |

Guys,
I ordered my Cross American Recoil XPS today. I'm still not sure which Way I will end up going on Chems. I know I don't like solvent smelling Presprays. I'm leaning towards Procyon in the extractor. It cleans well enough leaves the carpet pretty soft, almost like an acid rinse does. The prespray is still up in the air. It seems that this is the most important chem. I guess I will order a few and try them out. Any suggestions on good presprays? Barry Edited by Laserman - 19/December/2007 at 7:11pm |
