I am looking to purchase a new extractor. I am considering the eclipse. It has 249 water lift. I am looking at the 500psi model. What's your advice? Also what is the difference in 3 vacs verses 3 stage vac?

If you go to this web site's home page, seek out used equipment.  You will find an Eclipse under carpet cleaning machines.

This unit is basically new and open to offers.  It belongs to a customer of mine and he is anxious to sell it.

The differece is the number of stages or fan blades in each vac. 3 stage would have 3 blades to catch the air instead of 2 blades on a 2 stage vac.

When you connect them in series, you can add the stages up to a total that gives you a final lift number. So 3 2 stage motors is 6 stages and gives lift of close to 200".3 3stages in series gives you the lift of 9 stages.

The Eclipse machines I have measured never came close to the advertised figure of 249" however, so I think you should take your own measurement if you are buying this machine on the basis of lift. You may find you have only 200" from this machine. That is okay if you are happy with that, but not if you thought you were buying 249".

I would talk to Ted (Carpetologist) about this machine, if I were you. Also, ask him to measure the waterlift for you.
