Guys I did a hardwood floor cleaning job today. I used my 17 inch general low speed floor buffer. The floors were dull but still had a coat of poly on them. I used Bridgepoint hard wood floor cleaner and then I use the Bridgepoint hard wood floor Wood Finish. The floors look cleaner and shiney, but it didnt have that acrylic gloss look to it. I really think if the floors are in good shape, the best way to do it is give them a light sand. Then apply heavy a coat of polyurithane. What do you guys think?

Did you use the matte or semi-gloss? You can do additional coats of the semi-gloss to gradually increase the shine.
Poly is great, of course, but the great benefit of the Bridgepoint product is that it's safe to walk on (carefully) after a couple of hours. In any case, a few light to medium coats is better than one heavy coat. |

I used two coats of semi -gloss, the customers loved it they called me to tell me. Jon-don has a very good hardwwod floor restoration product as well. It is dust free also.

If you try it, let me know how it compares. I think I saw an add for a similar product by Prochem also.

As long as the customer knows the level of expectation,
you should be fine, I have done over 100 floors with this
system since I started using it. The customers generally
love it,but if it is missing certain criteria I always recommend
sanding.

That's impressive, Rob. How are you marketing the service? How long have you been doing it? What do you charge . . . if you don't mind. ![]() |

It is pretty easy to present and sell to the customer.
There are benefits to both systems and re-coating as it
is called will not always be the best solution.
put all the options in front of your customer including
all expectations that they may have.I get usually between $.50psf
to $3.00 psf depending on what needs to be done and if furniture
is involved. I have also done some cabinents.I get about $150.00
per hour so it can be quite profitable!!!
All the Best, Rob
Ps I have been doing it for close to 2 yearsand
bridgepoint has great brouchures on the process you
should be able to get from any Interlink supplier. Edited by Rob Lyon - 10/February/2007 at 4:29pm |

With bridgepoints semi-gloss it usually takes 2-3 coats max
Bridgepoints is self leveling and that makes all the difference in the world!!!
