Hi Rotovac

Welcome to the forum. I just want to give you some advice. If you post your questions in the carpet cleaning hangout or any of the other topics that suit your questions you will probably get an answer quicker.

Just trying to help out a good man that fought for his country.

It's unbelievable seeing what some Americans post for pricing as TomR has and that's in a currency that is worth 35% more than ours.

Mr.Steamer you need a longer hose to reach the U.S.A.
Incedently I have a special on hoses this month. Just thought you could suck up those U.S. dollars.

I was going by the big companies too- phone estimates and website estimates.  Check it out http://www.servicemaster.com/GetEstimate.dsp?product_sku=P-C A1000&loc=text

and

http://www.stanleysteemer.com/services/services.aspx?pid=Ser vices

Use the zip code "15202", its my zipcode.  The estimates pretty much corroberate my observation that where I live there is a huge demand for carpet cleaning and a fairly limited supply of carpet cleaners.

(rotovac, type your zipcode into one of the two pages I linked to above for an idea of what to charge)

Sears and COIT make you fill out an online form so they can call you with the estimate, but it can't be too much off of these other guys.

You see why I am so juiced about this!  If I can buy the equipment outright and fit in 5 services a day, I'll be in good shape.  Like I keep harping on about...padmans got what looks like a good complete system for about 2 grand.

one last thing...Mr Steamer, can you tell me whether or not the following is true: http://www.theallineed.com/ad-self-help-4/self-help-034.htm

The Happy Guy's article was interesting. I wonder myself Steamer is it true.

It reminds me of the moving company's when you go to sign the contract at the end you find all these up charges and what you had planned and saved to pay is way out.

What can a customer do about that. Do they pay or can they refuse the extra charges to pay after the job is done?

Just wondering.

not quiet...a portable guy makes 25 %...so he would have made 17 bucks...lol....

the 10 bucks extra ...he was just trying to milk her....

Sears doesn't want its employees to take tips....

hope that helps you
