I know exactly what you mean. You hire some guy train them show them everything that you know and BAM they are gone on their own carpet cleaning and taking some of your customers with them. I am ask all the time to recommend any body that I think is willing to work hard and not want to start their own carpet cleaning business. What a loaded quest that is. 9 times of of 10 the guys I think will work out don't. I though I could help but the truth is you never know. You just have to keep trying until you hit the jack pot. I gave up suggesting any one, it always came back at me. Not that they blamed me but hearing the crap the guys did to them put a guilt trip on me. You are not alone in this and I hope you get some good advise from the guys here. GOOD LUCK Dyna |

Dyna...you're right nothing works...more money less money...good van or not...If you get a good one, he's only looking to start his own business...if you get a poor one, he doesn't show up for work...he's late to the calls, he has the touch of death..... In this day and age...no one wants to do carpet cleaning...it's almost like a Mcdonalds Job...just a filler while they look for something better |

You don't necessarily find good employees you have to work and make good employees. You have to mold that person in your company. Lets face most young people are not planning to be a carpet cleaner for the rest of their life. Sometimes it is the training or lack of that frustrates peopel and causes some to leave. It may even be your present employee who is doing the training afraid of his job. Hireing form another company? I may want to start fresh you don't need another companies bay habits. But if you were only looking to save money on training and are not worried about your business than I am sure there are a great number of former employees who for one reason couldn't cut it with your competition. I must quit as in most of your eyes I will be way off base. These are my opinions.

Hiring them is usually no problem, keeping them is easy too. Its getting rid of them that I have a problem with. Even the ones who quit come back! If the employee knows you are concerned with him getting a good paycheque you will find there are fewer problems and they will stay around. Everybody wants to start their own business at first. Then most realize that they need a good contract to pay the bills and have the stuff on the side for gravy. |

Lee you go far and beyond to help out your employees. I know this much to be true. If I ever get fired I am going straight to your office and ask for a job. |

Stanley money isn't every thing, well just about not every thing. I am happy, I get up every morning for the last 15 years, look forward to getting into work every day just to talk with you guys. I blink my eyes and its time to go home. I think the percentage of people feeling how I do each day is low. I consider myself lucky. God it sounds like I fishing for a raise |
