how do you decide

last year up until Xmas I ran 2 vans

quite honestly I hated it other than I got to take time off but when I'd get back I'd have to fix many jobs

my biz is large enough now that I either have to do some firing of custies or run both vans

how do I decide??

A.K.A.
Andy

2 vans are great... 1 van is great.......

the 2 van is better if you have someone you trust....but it will cost you if the idiot has a lead foot, doesn't know how to treat equipment or has no customer service.....

firing a few customers is a good thing......it gets you higher prices when they call you back.

Having one truck means you would die a worn out old man.

But I see why and what Steamer means. It's just seems impossible to attract good honest hard working people to our industry.

Ted The think that stands out  "IS GOOD HONEST PEOPLE." Just stand back and look in the mirror people. It may surprise you that the person working for you is just doing what you trained them to do. You are just seeing yourself in action.  If your company is high volume, high pressure lowball company try to sell anything you can you get what you deserve. For christs sake you guys should wear a mask to hide your identity, instead of training your competition on how to rob the not so intelligent and feel good about.

Andy I think if you have 2 trucks you should use them.  Be patient the right person will come along.  Keep your employee doing your apts. that will give you more time to spend on your residential clients.
