Hey Padman!! I have been bonnet cleaning for 17 yrs and I still am shocked at some of the before and afters I've performed. I've been using the big fluffys(cotton blend)pads and have been quite pleased with them. They last a long time too. Is oping really THAT much better. You have said numerous times that agitation is the key as I am a big believer of that fact. On extremely soiled carpet I will usually use a brush under the buffer, then pad. I'm considering switching from buffer to op machine but not sure if I like what I've heard about it.,(high vibration, premature pad death, changing pad at least twice as often as with bonnet) Please tell me, Is it really THAT much better?

Hey Rawhide....

Yes OPing does a better job, ALWAYS, however, you DO use more pads, but that is because you are also removing a lot more soil.

VIbration, man that is tough one, ALL oscillators vibrate, but that is not a problem for the users.  Premature pad death, well there has been a bit of that lately. Seems NO ONE can get decent pads anymore.

We are currently designing new pads, but can't say much more until a lot of testing is done.

Rawhide,

Try drying yourself in the morning with your cotton blend bonnet. Then try with a 100% egyptian pad and you will have your answer to extraction. And yes, if you pick up more dirt you will have to change the pad more frequently. But results are there for you and your customers to see.

Good Luck

PadMan,

Nice to see you pop in and out and we at KK wish you and your better half a Merry XMas. We also wish you a Happy Holiday.

I just have to cover all the bases and be politically correct. What's this BS all about anyway.

Carpetologist, What about drying yourself off after a shower with a 100% cotton bonnet? 100% cotton is 100% cotton. Has anyone tried these?

Good point made, maybe PadMan can help here as he indicated in another post that it's getting hard to find good pads.

Is the quality and absorbency better in USA cotton, Egyptian cotton or Indian cotton?...etc, We sell rags for clean up and I have seen some serious inconsistencies in the quality of pads.

What makes for a better cotton???

Maybe we need the vast experience of nightrider to figure this one out?

Ted;

Here's how I take a shower(based on your question to The Padman):

1.  After "shampooing" my hair; I "rinse it"

2.  Then, either "air-dry" it ; or dry it off with a "towel"

(hee--heee-heee!)

The very BEST to both The PADMAN & TED this Holiday Season!

Good Fortune to;

Ed Valentine
