I bring my own water 99% of the time.   I hate to fill up at the customers.  Some people will even stand at the tap waiting for you to tell them to turn it off.  I had one lady ask me if I was filling the whole big tank.

I can just imagine what they say when you leave.

Most of my Jobs are around town anyways.  people like to hear that you are self contained.

I clean at least 1500 carpets a year, you got to be able to read the customer...

there are really only 5 types of customers, so it's a re-run for me most times

Gentlemen;

Here is what I experienced during my many years:

1.  Electric Heating elements (120v) are very inefficient at best.

2.  Customers didn't care about plugging in the machines in their homes.

3.  Using the proper set up one eliminates the bucket brigade.

4.  Using the right machine, carpets dry as fast as any TM.

5.  SERVICE with a SMILE is always icing on the cake.

6.  Steaminpile should cut down on all that sugar for breakfast!! LOL!

Good Fortune to all;

Ed Valentine

do you know how many times I've been told about the last cleaner that was there with his little plug in....or the one that took their cold water and used it to clean...or the one who dumped that dirty water down the kitchen sink...

just about a million

Hire an idiot and you get those results.

NEVER

Has a customer complained about plugging in. Of course, I'm only a rookie with 30 years in the trade. They do like to say how nice the carpets look though.

The point? Professionals clean up after themselves and perfom professional work. Steamer , stay away from the adhesive containers.

My "little plug in" has a triplex General pump and 4 vacs in series. Of course,any fool will tell you that won't clean. Heavy emphasis on FOOL.

you're getting off topic... we are not talking cleanability... we are talking about weather the customer likes to have their hydro used.

give me back my glue bottle...I think you've snorted more than your share in 30 years.

Willy in 30 years how many carpets have you cleaned??? 30 or so..lol

I don't care if you want to plug 10 cords in, as long as your happy Willy.

If the job is good I'm sure the customer won't mind either

My business is built on one custy telling another custy telling another custy and so on.My overhead is low, other than change my pump oil and replace the odd vac motor, or a toggle switch, my machine doesn't give me greif.No heavy fuel costs either. Dry times are quick and toughies I rotary out first. Just happy people, who like what I do. 30 carpets? Not that busy, just 4.

Don't say that Steamer. I was hoping to hire you myself someday. A man with your charm would have to be an asset in any company.

Sorry, Steamer.

That Cushy Job working for Willy is already filled. (ME!)

I want a hugh office, over-stuff swivel chair with remote, no problems, don't even want to answer the phone-----but our lovely board Queen, Gloria can sit on my lap if she chooses to as I spin around-----and I want a hugh pay check.

Ofcourse, I'll just settle for a pool side location!
