In Alberta last year accidental poisoning statistics were as follows:
Between the ages of: 0 - 4 years - 11, 515 poisonings 5 - 10 years - 1,524 11 - 19 years 1,019 20 and over 7,799 Top three culprits - Household cleaners, bleach and medications
In the USA the #1 cause of accidental poisoning is Dawn Dishwashing detergent WHY?
Because it is the #1 seller
Tide contains Lye and is the #1 polluter and it is also the #1 seller.
Deep Woods Off has an ingredient called DEET. DEET causes seizures in children and adults
Inert (or inactive) ingredients in products are protected by trade secrets and very dangerous
In the work place Material Safety Data Sheets must accompany any product used. The work place and the outdoors are considered legal environments while the air in homes is not
Steam from our dryer vents is extremely toxic, because of the chemicals from dryer sheets and residue from laundry soap and bleach.
Chemicals from carpets and plastic have been found to cause kidney and liver damage
CAN ALL THESE FACTS BE TRUE JIM, OR AM I MAKING ALL THIS STUFF UP, I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE YOU ADVOCATE AN OPEN FORUM OPINION ON THE ABOVE MENTIONED, SURELY YOU MUST AGREE THAT THE ABOVE MENTIONED IS A GREATER THREAT THAN A LITTLE BUTYL IN OUR CARPET CLEANING MACHINES.
I'LL BE WAITING FOR ALL THE LAWYERS LETTERS TO COME POURING IN FROM THE MAKERS OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED PRODUCTS, BUT THEY WILL LOSE, 'CAUSE WHAT I SAY IS TRUE.

Jack, When i read your post it sounds to me like you are coming on board with me. If all of these toxins are around us in many different forms then it makes sense to me that we minimize our exposure and limit our use of them to where they are needed. As to the specifics of your comments i agree with your top three culprits I didn't know that Dawn is the top dishwasher soap but I'm surprised to see it as Number 1 but certainly might be true I doubt Tide has lye in it. The biggest problem with laundry detergents has been the use of phosphates but they are now limited by law as to the percentage content I didn'y know that DEET causes seizures in children I do know that it is recommended that any children's DEET product should be no higher than 8%. The adult version I think is up around 20%. makes sense to me that if bugs don't like this stuff for whatever reason it can't be very good for us. Inert ingredients in our products are not trade secrets and may or may not be dangerous.
The whole point to all of this is that if in fact we are surrounded by chemistry and lots of bad stuff from different sources then as stated above limiting our exposure to them surely can't be a bad thing

Jim , now you sound like that guy who keep saying someone had weapons of mass destruction out there and we have to rid the world of them. So off he went, loaded up his trucks with weapons of mass destruction , employeed lots of sales reps ( soldiers) to get the word out and start their crusade. We all know the outcome of that story, just as we can forsee the outcome of your crusade. My points all along is not that I don't believe Butyl is dangerous, my reasoning was the fact thet we live and breath chemicals all day, we eat them, we crap them, some taste good, some bad, some smell, some don't, we got used to them, our bodies even have built an immunity to all of them in which we were exposed to in small doses............My Point is as follows ONLY THE DOSE MAKES THE POISON ONLY POISON DOES THE DOSE MAKE DOSE = POISON I can take apple seeds, crush them and kill you with the cyanide that they produce ( dose makes the poison) I can do the same with the pit of a peach, its leaves and the bark of its tree.( dose makes the poison) I can kill you with pear seeds, its leaves and its bark as well. ( dose makes the poison) Tomato stems and its leaves can also kill you (dose=poison) Just look at the beauty of the Dieffenbachia plant, the sap is so poisonous even residue left on your fingers after manipulation can kill you should your fingers come into contact with your mouth or tongue. Please note that these plants are extremely poisonous and should not be ingested in any manner whatsoever. It will cause painful swelling of the mouth and tongue, preventing normal breathing Jim we can all run, but we can't hide. Chemicals are big business and here to stay, Butyl and all. ALL THE ABOVE MENTION BY ME JACK PRINCE AKA NIGHTRIDER IS OF MY SOLE OPINION AND DOES NOT REFLECT ON THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS ON THIS BOARD AND IN PARTICULAR THE KLEENKUIP COMPANY AND ALL IT'S EMPLOYEES. INFORMATION STATED IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE USED, TRIED, EXPERIMENTED WITH WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF A BOTANIST OR DEGREED CHEMIST. NIGHTRIDER

Mr. Darling I use and love some of the products you make, especially enz-all, that stuff rocks. Green chemicals do not work on soiled carpets and hard surfaces and my customers don't clean their clean carpets and floors so Green Chemicals would put me out of business real quick. I agree with Nightrider, you should hire him to head up your sales /marketing team
