I donno about you but unless you have a valve on your solution line wouldn't you have to shut down the machine to switch tools? That would take longer I would think. |

YOU ALL LISTEN! CAREFULLY!
I sold my carpet cleaning business last week.
Rule to the business loss... I tryed to buy the customer with price.
My last bid I was pissed at the world and I wanted to see if I could buy a tight customer. I gave a bid (for the fun) of $150 for a two story entire house, two sofas, a loveseat and a chair. Yes sounds stupid and I almost laughed as I said it to the customer on the phone, but would you believe the dumb fool on the phone started saying that sounded a little high and could I come off of that a little. hahahahahahha That dumb ass customer had no idea what a deal or no deal was. If I told him Id do it for $10 he was going to negotiate. Customers are stupid. Focus on the upper clients and drop that tight bastard one timer making everyones life difficult. If everyone raised their rates tight ass would have to pay real prices.

I stopped advertising with price. It gets you bargain shoppers, not concerned clients or so I found. Now, I charge more, get fewer lookey-loos, and while I work less I make more.
As for furniture cleaning, I pick up and deliver. Why do it during the job? Deliver wrapped in plastic and clean in the evening when things have cooled down so I don't get overheated. Customer thinks it requires something special in the way of a cleaning environment to get all that stuff out. |

Well Im happy and sorry to say you carpet cleaners can keep on beating a dead horse in the back. I sold my carpet cleaning biz and it was the best thing I have ever done in my life. Im actually making money again. A change has happened in carpet cleaning and your customers are buying $89 home carpet cleaning machines more than ever. ANd the idoits think they are better than a truck mount. They toot their own horns and bragg to family that they can clean a carpet as well as you. Fricken losers....
We all know that is stupid and its nonsense but its what the dumbasses believe. And dumb asses are the majority rule here, and I say let the losers wallow in their own sweat, dog feces, cat urine etc. I kinda think its a fitting end and nicely revengeful.....hahaha
PS In 10 customers you get 2normal people, 2 young punks thinking they know better than you ,2 old people who dont remember their own name, 2 absolute freaks, and 2 really dumb ass families who trust their 16 year old kids to handle things while they are at work. Its a nutty fricken world out there.

95% of all businesses fail within the first three years, we all know that. Not due to under capitalization, but due primarily to poor management decisions. The poorest of these it could be said is giving up on yourself and finding everybody else and every thing else to blame.
It is one thing to take on a job with the goal in mind of helping to finance your operation in slow times. Beats sitting on yer arse and wallowing in self pity. But it another to thing to sell out, not to learn and then adjust a business to meet the changing market. Some are meant to be masters, others are meant to have masters. Me, I adjust. Times tougher? Cheap skates coming out from the woodwork? Sell on Competitive Prices, Superior Service and Outstanding Results. Let the cheap bastards rent their rug doctors. The ones who have money in good times have it is not-so-good times. Commercial is great business. I have made it my bread and butter now. Residential is loaded with people who are experiencing foreclosures. That business will come back in 3-4 years when the weak are weeded out. Just like in real estate any order taker can do well in good times. But when the going gets tough, that is when the men are separated from the boys as they say. Only the strong survive. And that is the way it should be. My two cents. |
