Nah, stick your hand down into the tank and put your finger over the outlet. Water is always coming out of it. You either run your pump at top pressure and haven't noticed it because it is small, or you haven't ever run your pump at lower pressures on a job and seen it flood the tank. Oh yeah, one more detail about this nasty 1003/1005 machine: The release valve is not the farthest point out on the machine. The large wheels on the back of the machine actually stick out 2 or 3 inches farther than the release valve's spout.
So, as you can guess, if you back the thing up to a ground-level sink (the most common type in the US), you end up dumping a lot of water on the ground in front of the sink. Duh! Edited by FriendlyHammer - 26/February/2009 at 8:59am |

if you're gonna look at a Mytee,,,,,,,,,,,,LOOK AT THE M-5 IT KICKS A$$ 15 or 16 gal. tanks I can't remember,,,,,,,I almost always use auto fill auto dump and the vac is more than adequate for a porty nothing against Ed's machine though,,,I have a close friend in Vancouver that has one and he is quite pleased with his . I actually like being a P.O.G.,,,,I'm getting my old customers back from when I had a TM and they just don't care what I use and if they do,,,,,,,,,,,they don't anymore after doing the same quality work with a porty with the same dry times
I also recommend the Mytee hotbox inline heater,,,,,,keeps the water nice and toasty.
If you wanna do LOOOONNNNG hose runs off a porty get one of Ed's boosters.
personally I just roll the machine closer.
I don't like losing vac,,,,,,,,,but @100ft. the M-5 does a great job only drawback I find is it's pretty friggin heavy
