It has always been interesting to me when I
see great boards such as this one, with a hand full of terrific people who
participate to share and exchange information of benefit to all reading, that
there are an unbelievable amount who tune in but never ever comment. On a couple
other boards, (sometimes referred to as obnoxious because one never knows who is
going to blindside them--LOL) the problem is many have conveyed to me that they
do not post because they "are afraid of the hassles/repercussions" if they do
participate. Therefore, in each case, they tune in, take, and leave.
What amazes me is that these individuals (are supposed to be..) are self-starters and therefore, should have, the drive of a true "Leader"; and not a follower. So, why do they not post? Why don't these individuals Lead and say whats on their mines to set the record straight , and stand up for what is right? I guess we'll never know, will we. Generally speaking, it has been proven that some people act like givers or like takers. When they act like givers, they contribute to others without seeking anything in return. They might offer assistance, share knowledge, or make valuable introductions. And, most of all, they are their own person and do not have a hidden adjenda; they only want to extend themselves in helping. They are not selfish; they are true Leaders and will stand up to those who want to knock another down. When they act like takers, they try to get other people to serve their ends while carefully guarding their own expertise and time. They always have a hidden adjenda that only serves themselves rather than others. They are selfish and probably never looked at themselves in the mirror because they themselves are afraid to! Which one of the above descriptions honestly would you personally label yourself ? Or, would you just prefer to get upset at this writer for stating the truth?! This will be interesting to see, as an example, how many will read this comment, but not post which will indeed prove my comments...unfortunately as it is. Anyways, best to all; Ed Valentine |

Well said!! I would like to think that the givers far outnumber the takers. I post when I can... sometimes I step in it... sometimes I'm spot on. Life is one great crapshoot! Welcome to being human LOL.

Thanks for the reply.
You might be surprise perhaps, but we have seen tens times (yep!) the number of people who tune in to a thread and never reply. I have spoken to many, many of these people on the phone and they have told me pretty much what I allutted to above. Too bad, really. |

I'm new to this forum, so I can't really say, but I've been on a few forums where the conversation can turn nasty is people don't agree. Other times I think some people are just more quiet in life than others. You can be a leader, but also be more of a silent type. You might think that you're not doing any harm by reading but not writing much. I did just skip reading a few posts because they have over 200 comments, most of which are, "Thanks, good info" or whatever.
Like I said, I'm new here so I don't really know, but let's just say I didn't want to not respond to this post!

They may be afraid that speaking their minds might ruffle a feather or two. The reason I post is to draw those sensitive pansy ass people out of their shells of arrogance, who are hell bent on defending some dumb notion, and watch how childish they are at trying to sound smart while being complete idiots.
Let us see who among them is all ego and no brain now. Happy Father's Day |

:) I just joined so hopefully I'll be posting quite a bit. I believe some people never post because they're shy. Or simply 'on the go'. Hopefully that changes though!!!

I can tell you Ed that the abuse I have received from sharing on this board was beyond comprehension.

Yes, I can agree with you there. I got as much if not much more. The difference was I did not let it stop me. I know that many others could not have done the same though. |

Ken's right on here, he did take a lot of abuse, as manufacturers often times do. Seems like they are in the cross-hairs of some deceivous individuals who are planted by ,.......well, you know, the competition.
Anyways, the beat goes on as long as others out there who are the real honorable people in our Industry allow this B$ to happen without clamping down, confronting these jokers. Only then, will these boards flourish and really benefit the Operators. |
