I'm looking for some little tips and tricks that can make a cleaning experience stand out from the rest. Little things like leaving a clean fresh scent when finished cleaning, which is something that can mean a lot to a customer.

I used to go to a barber many years ago who finished off all haircuts by using a straight razor on the little hairs on the back of the neck. No one else in town did this, and he said he did it for the satifaction of knowing he was giving the best haircuts in town.

What kind of extra little things do you provide for either yourself or your customers sake?

Hey JR

honestly one of the best people to talk to about this is John G

He is a people person and we have learned a lot from him.

One of the things we do is talk to and educate our customers. BUILD a Rapport it means they will remember you!!

If they remember you not only will they call you when they need a cleaning but refer you when their friends do too.

Well first off Hooboy I hope your Steam Cleaning... with a Truck Mounted or Portable unit.

Having a Truck Mounted Unit shows the customer that you mean business, they will respect you and your cleaning.

a 70,000 dollar machine says a lot about you and your cleaning ..

pulling up in a car and grabbing something from the back is only going to put doubt in the customers mind...

Visual Image... Looking professional will make you professional

YOU WANT TO STAND OUT ABOVE THE OTHERS?

Wear booties inside the house and have a throw mat to put your stuff on inside the door.

CUSTOMERS LOVE THESE TWO THINGS.

Booties are not covered under work mans comp... if you get hurt wearing booties... just don't tell...

But the throw mat is an excellent idea... I use white drop cloths instead

Why aren't booties covered by WSIB?

I also notice that Sears techs all wear booties now. But they don't worry about WSIB do they?

The booties will cause you to slip every easy... Even sleep country doesn't include them in there ad any more..Don't believe me check with the wsib regulations... It came down from head office for us...  Subs wear them it's our choice since a lot of them don't pay into WSIB

sorry for getting off topic Hooboy we are bad for that here

How can subs have no WSIB??? They would have to be WSIB declared independent operators and in carpet cleaning that is very, very tough to get.

Its only easy if you have proof of documentation of dealing with 3 or more companies and have a substantial investment in equipment. Lots of the Sears guys work  exclusively for Sears , someone in that situation would have to pay WSIB.

i don't use booties any more, instead i use a different pair of shoes when cleaning. less slipping and falling.
nothing is impossable. it just hasn't been done yet.

my booties are water resistant but very expensive compared to sleep country and what some movers use. in fact you can reuse them

they're made by Kimberly Clark
