Dude, I think my skin is plenty thinck for I can hang with the best of them. BUt it pisses me off when I hear ignorant and rascist comments or jokes made about people. You obviously do not know Calgary very well if you don't believe that. We have even had a Supermarket closed down here for selling horse meat as well. It really is the wild west out here in more ways than one.

Ninja-Wand..............with all due respect, a great number of the Chinese population in China eat " CAT " " Dog " " RAT " and other such foods, so why would they change just because they come to The United States or Canada. If it's not so, why would my partners have pics of them cooking these things and have them hanging by rope over tree branches back in the old country, plus the many stories that come along with the pics.

I have 4 Chinese partners in my restaurant and employ 22 ( Chinese Speaking Only ) employees that came with the purchase, and the jokes & insults are all part of a learning proccess between our cultures.

Don't tell me when you're among your family or group of friends that racial jokes never touch the tip of your tongue.

There is a Chinese saying that says "The people in Canton province will eat anything with four legs except a kitchen table............... &............... anything with wings except an airplane.''

First off NR, There is NOT a great number of chinese that eats dog, cats, butterfly,racoons ect. in China. The people that do eat these kinds of animals are majorily poor that lives in the countryside and cant afford meat. I know...I lived in Hong kong for 2 years and have been to many places in China.

The eating of dog is more a Vietnamese custom than a Chinese one. Many of my friends are of that nationalty(Vietnamese, as well as Chinese). Even though some try to hang the title of racist on me, it doesn't fit.My friends come from dozens of different racial backgrounds. I judge people by what they have done, not where they come from.

Many of my Vietnamese friends I have today escaped Northern Vietnam in boats and ended up in camps in Hong Kong for up to 2 years before getting out of there. I suspect that is where Thang came from as well.

I am Vietnamese and it is not a custom to eat dogs. Im not sayin that they dont...because my parents have told me that Back in the days poor people would snatch up whatever pet they seein roamin in the streets and cook'em.

I lived in Hong Kong because my dad was a VP of a sugar exporting company and they sent him there...So, I wasnt in a camp. I was actually living in kowloon. SO dont assume anythin.
