Oh Yeah............A couple of weeks should do it,.......... was the magazine mailed to 100,000 people or homes. If it is homes then you may be getting calls from 300,000 people or more. How many phone lines do you have, and how many people to staff the phones.

nightrider yes , i mean 100,000 Household. and i got only 5-10 jobs a week... so i dont need to hire more people to answer the phone calls. i live in florida state and we have alot of competitors, on the same book\magazine we have another 4 and sometimes 5 carpet cleaners. Ninja-wand, what king of advertizing you do?! MR. STEAMER , right now like i said i work to cover the expenses but i hope it will be better in future... |

When you first start , unfortunately covering you ad is all that happens sometimes. 1-3% call back is all you can expect. $1000.00 advertising @ month is a lot for a one unit operation. commercial accounts are going to be necessary as a back up and those take some leg work to get.
Keep plugging away. Don't let your advertising become an Ego Trip. The advertising either works or you have to FIRE it. and move on . A nicely lettered Van and a lot of business cards and a good pair of shoes is well placed money when first starting $ 1000.00 in this area will last a lot longer than one flyer and will serve you well in the long haul. |

I never heard so much dribble from a thread as this one. First it starts off with dumb comments how trole4us spends $ 1000.00/week on advertising only to perhaps break even when the fat lady sings.
Trole4us..........either you have too much money or a lack of brains............I think I'll go with the lack of brains and an overworked imagination.
If you or anyone else wants to blow $1000/week in advertising, this is how you do it...............approach all the charity organizations in a 50 mile radius and offer FREE carpet cleaning as a promotional stunt in return you receive FREE advertising from Radio, T.V , Magazines , Talk Shows , Banners , Word of Mouth , Flyers , Newsletters , advertising from other major companies also offering Free time or services to the cause. The possibilities are endless............all for the price of investing $ 1000.00/week in Free carpet cleaning ( or whatever services )
The return is GREAT, and at least you get a Bang for the Buck.

NR gimmicks make you look cheesey.....Don't play with free carpet cleaning.
You want to make money??? you got to put out more advertising than you need.... do all the paks in your area... drop ads weekly in the local news paper...label your vans...make everyone you know drive with your ad on their back glass...Busses...Local Radio...those bastards over at the realestate offices....Yellow pages
I know what your thinking...
10 grand a month easy right.....YUP!
but instead of booking 20 to 30 calls for the month you book 200 to 300 calls
yes so you're only breaking even
yes you're working like a dog
yes all your money is going to the advertisers
But if you have done a good job...you have one of the greatest customer lists after a year...
I didn't do enough
