Which stainguard product do you guys use on carpet?  I have been told that Maxim (I think it's made by Bridgepoint) is a better product than 3m Scotchguard.  I have been using Maxim, but I'm having second thoughts because it costs alot more than Scotchguard.

Thanks for the help.

You must be new to the game.
In Toronto most guys follow this protocol:

In a 2 gallon black pump up sprayer mix 3 parts cold water with 3 parts warm water shake well and charge a lot.

Label your sprayer "AQUA-GARD"

Originally this was invented in Ottawa CanadaLOL

Kleen Kuip has a Special on Stainshield Professional (Teflon Base) carpet protector.  This is a special that Jim put together for us and it's a great deal.

We are not sure how long this special will last with the expected changes that will be happening at Chemspec.

Purchase one gal. $84.05

Special by case lots only: $158.00

Break that down to $39.50 per gal.

Best Deal in Town with Quality Dupont Teflon.

Dilution: 1-4 Wet     8-1 Dry
Commercial Carpet 2400 Square feet
Residential Carpet  1200 Square feet

Aqua Guard is most likely a brand name by a distributor and may very well be a Teflon base.

The word (Aqua) indicates water that leads me to believe it may also be a silicone base product and thats not doing your customer any favors. Silicone does a great job on water protection but it actually attracts oil.

Aqua-gard is when yor rip the old lady off by using only water and no gard at all in the pump-up. then laugh about it later with your helper over a few Laurentide or 50 at the Hotel.
