Shrack, All that toxic stuff you are using is killing you and giving your customer a high not to mention you are delaminating and messing up the back side of the carpet.
Look at Core Unbelievable Citrus Gel. You use much less because it is a cream and not a liquid and it never gets to the back of the carpet, plus it has a very pleasant aroma. It works very well.
Call Core for a distributor near you. 1-800-825-core
P.S.
I keep saying it and no one listens. NEVER EVER USE A PRODUCT PROFESSIONALLY THAT CAN BE BOUGHT IN A GROCERY OR HARDWARE STORE. NEXT TIME THEY WON'T NEED YOU.

Goof-off is awesome. The only GUM REMOVER I use. I'm not even going to try it on kool-aid. And that buzz you get while using it.....WOW! Tried goo-gone...Not as good as Goof off. Plus it's only 5 bucks for a can. It pours out of a little nozzel, so you don't get it all over your hands and van.

We use propane, so you know we're safe.

I once cleaned Steve's Music Store (downtown Toronto). The carpet was very badly soiled not to mention gum stains as far as the eye could see. Figured it took about 3 extra hrs. to remove all the gum stains + any other spots charging an extra $200 for this service. I went home exhausted but happy. Apparently 6 months later they completely replaced all the carpeting. Edited by Mr.Mike |

you take one spot out you'll be a hero....she'll have ten more...you'll waste another hours or so...then they won't ever be as carefull...and they'll spill that crap everytime Cuz they know that you can get it out...it'll cost you a smalll fortune at Teds cuz you'll always need that stuff to get that stain out.. I'm a carpet cleaner...not a furniture mover...not a vac man...not a stain remover...I wash it and if it doesn't comeout to bad.... I always carry a spot bottle on myside with soap...and if that doesn't take it out...to bad.... I can't believe how some people think. Goof off on a red stain. duh. This is a SOLVENT! Gum removal, yes. Glue removal, yes. Red stain???? If goof off would take it out than so would tide, or dawn, or woolite, or water because it hasn't sat there long enough to bond. And these other guys who think it's too much work... stain removal gives the customer what they want, and you can charge more for it!!! You're not paid for drive time, so it makes sense that the more you can charge fairly at each job while giving the customer what they want, the better it is. It's a SERVICE INDUSTRY, GIVE THE CUSTOMER WHAT THEY WANT OR SOMEBODY ELSE WILL. There are still too many cleaners who focus on "marketing trends" "shaping the customer" and other Joe Polish bs that works for a year or two and then your screwed because your out there competing with guys who actually know what they are doing. Here's a thought... become good at what you do and charge like somebody who is good at what they do. |

I have use several different kinds of prespray before with various results. I have found that a natural orange degreaser works best. Mix 3/4 cup with a gallon of hot water and there isn't much it can't break up. Doesn't hurt the carpet at all and makes cleaning much easier.

ya when you run the water flow lower run the heat higher and you can
get good results. but then i make sure im using a good rinsing agent to help break up the pre-spray so i dont get any residue left in the carpet. with high water volume its really not a concern as all is flushed out fairly easily. a good pre-spray makes your life so much easier. Chris |

I've also found that it leaves the carpet wetter than I would like. However, I have corrected a lot of that problem by simply adjusting the water output. A decent prespray application usually makes up any shortfalls in water usage.

Lisa, I have a rotovac and would be happy to test the glides for you. I don't use it much now because I think it leaves the carpet too wet. If your glides work, I would use it more frequently. |
