I was cleaning an area rug for a customer it was natural fibers and it had a slight browning affect. The alkilne was nuetral I tested the water. I cleaned the rug. She didnt say anything about the browning I sprayed the whole carpet just to make the browning even. It was a very slight browning. The question I have for you guys is when the rug dries in about 5 hours do you think it will lighten up closer to its natural color when it dries? Let me know thanks alot guys

Browning usually gets worse as a rug dries.

I like to leave natural fiber rugs slightly on the acid side.

Did you clean it on site or off?

One good reason to clean it off site is to control drying.  If it's a heavy wool rug without air movers that 5 hour drying time probably won't happen.

CCT, UFT, OCT, CRT, RRT, WRT, SMT, FSRT, JTC, JSR, JWR, MTC a great life, if you don't weaken.

You say it was natural fibers, but which natural fibers?

If they are bast fibers I wouldn't hold my breath.

More info needed.

The customer never called me back, so I guess she has no complaints.

Maybe she colour blind, or just blind, or she doesn't remember the colour it was before........or..........she's talking to her lawyer right now explaining what happened to het carpet............you had better give her a call and ask to pass by 'cause you would like to offer her a free carpet treatment as a valued customer and take a look at it yourself.
