Hope noone minds a newbie question. I've read some threads that mention "padding" furniture. Could someone explain what this about? I am assuming it's putting some sort of pads under furniture to protect from wet carpet. Are there special made pads for this? or do people use different things? |

Yes your totally correct....I use pads to protect the carpet from getting rust marks from metal tipped leg bottoms...or from getting wood rust, thats when the varnish or finish bleeds into the carpet...or to protect the wood from sucking in water...basically for protection.... If you have heavier items..or items without legs you may want to look at "blocking" them....a block its a Styrofoam cube(1"-1 1/2" 3D cubelike)..I use it to keep heavier furniture with long sides ie (coffee table) of the wet carpet... A lot of newer furniture is made with plastic legs...plastic you don't have to pad Pads and blocks can be found at Kleen Kuip |

Fortunately we don't have to use pads and blocks, don't even have any on the truck. You guys work awfully hard don't you?
VLM , is easier in many ways. |

Stanley is on the money. I would pad all wood regardless of the circumstances and I block all melomine/presswood furniture.Melomine can release its glue and swell at the bottoms when left on wet carpet. One side note though, Make sure something is plastic and not rubber. I have seen exercise equipment and office chairs leave marks that were impossible to remove completely when left on wet carpet |

PadMan put big diapers under all the furniture, and then collects them later, hangs them out to dry and .....the beat goes on and on and on NIGHTRIDER |

I get "what are those?" from a lot of my customers; they have never seen tabs or blocks before. I find more of my tabs than of others cleaners. |
