Got a couple o' challenges for y'all.  First one's a real life situation, the second is  just kinda fun.  Really.

1) How would you get red wine stains out of sissel?  Winery tasting room floor... sissel carpet about two years old... using the interior decorator's face to agitate your favorate solution is a 'given' and highly reccomended.

2) Spill some ph indicator fluid (used to test ph in fish tanks) on an old  carpet sample (no fair using something that still has it's protection on it!).  Let it sit a couple of days.  Pretend that you don't know what it is & do your normal testing on the stain. Or if you don't test (silly goose!), then just use your normal product.  How would you get it out? Pretend the customer is watching what you do....

Any one with a challenge?

1)  If its real sisal , I'd pass. Tried to be a hero too often and it just ain't worth it. Spend so much time trying to put the colour back in or makeing the spot uniform with the rest.

2) Dyeco dye remover pen or CR3.

LilNiteRidrhood,

1) Darn.... I thought this might be a professional's response.  I'll walk on this one.  I can't afford to replace it.

2) Not familiar with these two products you've mentioned, but I'll check them out.  I was at a IICRC course, and the instructor asked us to bring carpet samples with stains to share and practise with.  One guy brought the ph indicator soaked sample.  Using a volitile solvent first didn't do anything, but putting on anything else changed the colour of the stain dramatically.  Quite funny to see the look on the student's face when the stain all of a sudden turned dark blue for a moment.

Thanks for responding.  OH.... and my previous question about the mixing of acid rinse/anti-bac/protector:  thanks for your answer there too... after the course I understood your answer much better.

Later!
