So the pub I cleaned carpets for wanted a deodouriser in their carpet for the front bar.

No biggie, I reccomended spending that little bit extra, and get the antibacterial deoderant.  They liked that.   So I'm gonna spray the carpet when I'm done, right?

It's a creme-coloured carpet, so I'm going to use a fabric setter as well.  Two sprays when I'm done then....

THEN, I bust out the card that's half treated with a brand name carpet protecter, and they decide that they need it desperately.  So that's THREE sprays then...

Or is it?

What can I successfully mix of those three products?  Any help here?  The distributor suggested I contact the manufacturers.  One manufacturer suggested that I spray three times, one said that if all the products are theirs (they aren't) that it SHOULD be fine... and one has failed to call me back.

I ended up spraying twice, spraying the anti-bac/deodourizer, then mixing the fabric setter with the protectant, spraying that, then raking out the carpet.  Could I have added the first product to the final mix?

Thanks in advance,

Allen

Most true anti bacterials are cationic and not compatible with protectors at all.

So don't use them in the same sprayer, or don't use them in the same session?  Does one negate the benifits of the other?

Hmm... this is deeper then I thought, isn't it?

I appreciate the response,

Allen

The cationic disinfectants affect the chemistry of the protectors both on the carpet and possibly the ones being sprayed on the carpet.

I would go along with the advice about using the chemicals from the same company.

I believe that three sprays will leave the carpet too wet and a colloidal mess.
