Looking for some recommendations on chemicals for commercial glue down
and upholstery. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.
Also, is there any alternative to scotchguard (the brand), maybe something that lasts longer in extremely high traffic, industrial office settings? I'm afraid of heavy resoiling on a contract client that i currently have and want to have my finished results look good for at least a month or two. As a little bit of history, this account replaces their carpets yearly (currently) due to uncontrollable soiling, I'd like to avoid that in the future and save them some money, so they can just give it back to me for the carpet cleaning. |

JaredW: first of all Scotchgard is spelled Scotchgard. The protector is not designed to make the carpet bullit proof. What is being walked onto the carpet that is causing the rapid resoiling? Is it the right carpet for the area in question? If it is olefin and say a machine shop you are looking for trouble. Maybe a different carpet may be needed for the area in question. Are you just using hwe now? Are you rinseing all your cleaner out? Maybe you should op the area in question with an ecnap product? maybe a simple thing like walk off mats may help. the soil has to come from outside the area. Soil does not usually start in the middle of the room and work it's way to the outside. As far as cleaners go you will find alot of individual preferences for each one. I myself use Pro Chem products for my main cleaning. I also use other brand named products. The main thing is for you to go to your supplier and ask for a sample. You and only you will be able decide what works best for you. Believe me I have been there.

Thanks for the spelling check. and bullit is spelt bullet. LOL. The
plant is actually an adhesive factory, the commercial glue down and
modular carpet in some areas is soiled largely by floor traffic, not
too much adhesives. The majority of the chemicals soiling the carpets
are powdered components of the adhesives. I am not currently cleaning
with hwe, another contractor is performing the job four times a year
(and doing a shotty job).
I am considering hwe using a recoil-3 and a wand, with agitation from a floor scrubber designed for carpets. I will look into your recommednations, thanks again. |

JaredW;
Rotary scrubber: This system (when used as a pre-treat) will Break down surface tension very quickly in high traffic areas with little or no problem. HWE: Used in the completion process, this system provides the much needed flushing and rinsing process required to throughly cleanse the fibers. Conclusion: This combination provides the absolute finest clean your client may ever have seen!
Those are my thoughts and experience. Good Fortune; Ed Valentine cross-american corp. |
