I have been using the standard type 2 jet cleaning wand for many years and I must say I hate it a little more every day.I have been looking into powered cleaning attachments such as the Rotovac, Rotory Drimaster from Hydramaster, Powerglide from Prochem, a power brush from Powerflite, and the RX 20 from Hydramster.I must say I'm not too thrilled with any of the options. The Drimaster seems like it may be the most useful of all for my situation.I do primarily residential cleaning and some commercial jobs.I would like to know what others are using and what kind of performance you are getting from them including how well they clean and how fast the carpet dries after you are done and are you having any problems after using the equipment such as wicking of spots or extremely long drying times. Thanks, Randy.

If you are doing mostly residential why the attachments?  When we used to use the RX 20 we charged extra.  These attachments are not cheap.  In most cases they are worth as much as your unit.  We found with the power and heat of our units and the small areas that we actually needed the RX for we leave it in our shop, unless it is a trashed apartment, or larger area.  2 Jet wand we use 4 jet we want hot water and losts of it to rinse.  I should quit.  This is just my opinionGuitar

Maybe you guys are younger than I am or just in all around better physical condition or perhaps you are just so lucky that only customers call you to go over carpet that barely needs cleaning to begin with.I am not so lucky. At least a third of the carpets I do are so trashed out that it takes heavy pretreatment and fairly vigorous work with a wand to get them cleaned.I have been cleaning carpet since 1980 and have cleaned in just about every conceivable situation.Going from a 2 jet to a 4 is certainly not going to make my job a great deal easier. The machine that seems to make the most sense for me is the new Drimaster from Hydramaster.I would especially like feedback on how any of those machines mentioned in my first post have performed.I AM LOOKING TO MAKE MY LIFE EASIER.I think the wand will always have a place in carpet cleaning for many years to come.I DON'T WANT IT AS MY PRIMARY TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best tool you can get...is someone to do it for you.....hire someone....lol you can always upgrade the model when you don't like it...and when it finally breaks down....you can grab your wand until you get another...lol

Steamer 1

What a subject, one I personally have never really understood.  Why on earth would anybody buy a wheelbarrow with no front wheel on it. Why would you use a hoe in the ground when a roto tiller is available.

Carpet cleaners spend thousands of dollars on equipment and beat them selfs to death for the rest of there life pushing and pulling a six Pound wand.

Wait at age 40 something, your shoulder gives out on you and causes much pain. Now you may be interested about 20 years to late.

I can only speak or speak on what I sell.

A)  If you clean a lot of commercial ....RX20

B)  If you clean a lot of resident's ....Jetless Rotary

C)  If you want to dig potatoes out of the carpet ....Roto Vac (Roto Vac is slower)

Work Smarter not Harder and it doesn't cost you money long term it saves you money and more customer satisfaction.
