Is at Kleen Kuip on May 11 and 12.

There are still 8 places to be filled.

Won't be back for quite a while.

Jim Smith of carpetinspector.com is the teacher. Should be a real treat.

Lee your right it will be quite a while until the next Upholstery school, but the dates are May 10th & 11th.  Wouldn't want anybody to show up late for school.

Formerly a master cleaning and master restoration tech and cert firm.  Refused to take the colour repair course to maintain my status. Stopped paying my dues and severed all ties 2 years ago. Have absolutely no use for the organization and the way it is run. Just my opinion though.

Can you tell that I'm bitter?

We could have a long discussion about this.

There have been already many long discussions on this very subject with the same bitter questions as you.  IICRC should have a discussion board so the members could voice their concerns. Maybe they would make some long overdue changes.

Nightrider,

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Everyone knows that.

I get hungry when I talk or listen about carpets too long

The schools are good, certification is optional, IICRC needs to re-address the colour repair requirement they have lost a lot of firms over that move, me for one. In my opinion that move was all about more schools for a few instructors and that is what I object too, plus the fact that I do not want to do colour repair.

My point exactly. The people who control the IICRC set the classes and requirements as they see fit without input from the ownership. Maybe someday when more firms and techs refuse to join or renew, they will start listening. Not likely though.
