I have been reserching the different CC methods, and I am still not sure what method I want to use when I start my CC biz, this morrning I have been looking at the Host dry extraction method , after reading thier web site I looked a the web sites of a few Carpet cleaners that use this method, according to them, this system can clean as deep as HWE, and is recomended by many carpet mills, sounds good to me, Dose any one here use this method? Dose it realy work as good as they claim? I would be greatfull for any advise I can get ! |

Apprentice I personally hate the host method it's messy. By the time you sprinkle the saw dust down work it in and them vacuum over and over again to try to get most of that dust up your exhausted and waisted two much time for little effect on the cleaning of the carpet. Of course I have only seen this method done and have not actually used it myself. This is just my opinion. |

Name all these mills that endorse it. If you can find even one, I will bet they own a piece of that company.

offer them both!!
I've been primarily an hwe guy for a long time but am starting to promote low moisture cleaning (bonnet) the two go together quite well anyways why limit yourself to just one way of cleaning, give your customers an option IMO |

A.K.A.

i've used host i don't really like it like adwa says its messy and you never vacuume all that dust back out. i do agree with steaminpile you should offer more than just one process, we offer bonnett hwe and now offer op cleaning.

Many years ago I got a call from a gentleman connected with the Korean consulate office here about cleaning 20 or so area rugs and have them delivered back within 48 hours. I Host cleaned them for $1.25 a square, a big sum at that time( God I'm old!), plus pick up and delivery. I made a tidy sum, but it was SLOW.I went through more vacuum bags than you can shake a stick at. I got 'em back, rolled out and I was out the door 35 minutes before the new consul dude arrived. They did have the housekeepers vacuuming the rugs as I was leaving.

Actually this method is widely recommended by many carpet mills. Especially for rugs with natural fiber content in the face or backings. It is much more expensive to perform and takes a lot more time to do. We use this method for all sisal and jute rugs and carpeting. |

Clik this link and you will see a list of about 50 http://www.actionebiz.com/carpet/manufacturers.htm Steampile, I wish I could offer two methods, but I can only afford one to start with, I would feel uncomforable with bonnet, because it only surface cleans, and HWE seems complicated, the dry extraction seems to have the best of bolth , deep cleans like HWE, and leaves carpet dry like bonnet, at least that is what the host pepole say, I am not going to just take thier word for it, thats why I am asking other Carpet cleaners what they think Thanks to everyone for the info! |
