Hi, I have cleaned carpet for about 5 years for other people and now I'm starting my own business. My budget calls for either a portable extractor with a wand or a self contained extractor. I'm doing everything myself so I need to save time. Would a six gallon portable not be big enough? Thank You |

That depends on what you are planning on doing. commerical or residential. I am not a fan of self contained. a stand alone extractor is more versatile and easier to get around.

Thanks doug! I will be doing some commercial work, but mostly residential. Do the heated extractors make that much of a diffrence? thanks |

Mike;
I would not recommend any extractor under 10 gallons. Larger the better!

Ed: larger is not always best if it does not have the capabilites to be able to moved about the home. It must also have an abundance of both vac an water pressure. 10 gallons is not much till there is stairs involved. With all the pump in and pump out features on todays portables this opens up a whole new era. As with tms you do not need to carry 100's of gallons of water with water softeners available today.

I am being missunderstood here. I believe this man in the beginning was on a very tight buget. My thought was not to try and tell Ed he was not correct as I was merely trying to explain what Irishmike should be looking for in a machine within his budget. Nightrider unfortunately not everyonne is like you, some have a budget they want to stick when entering this business. |

Right, you won't get a big one for $1500. Forgot his budget limit.
