We have had our carpet cleaned professionally, and we have done it ourselves with a inexpensive Bissell carpet cleaner.

We STILL get some sort of invisible film on our hands when we run them over the carpet. This substance makes our hands non-slippery, like you cannot slide them across each other. This stuff also makes it very hard to put on a pair of socks when it is on the bottom of our feet.

When we rinse our hands off with water, this stuff turns very slippery till its rinsed off.

We have been over the same spot on our carpet numerous times with a soap solution, then rinsed with vinegar/water.(1/8 C to half a gallon) and we are still getting this substance on ourselves.

We are real close to looking for another apartment.

Any suggestions as to what this substance is and how to get rid of it would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Brad

Hire an IICRC Certified Professional.
Sure, they may cost more than Eager Beaver Carpet Cleaners but the job would be properly done.
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

With their weird carpet cleaning situation they must have called in Nightrider who used his TIDE-Y process. The gift that lingers.

Cleaning is cheap!  Rinsing costs extra.

ooops, forgot to rince out all that Tide.....look at the bright side, next time you clean your carpet just use water, you'll save on the soap.

Once you do, you'll realize how much peace of mind you'll have knowing your carpet is receiving the best attention. Getting regular carpet cleanings and providing consistent upkeep will help you prolong the life of your carpet and maintain the look and feel of it for years to come.

The Hoover SteamVac Plus is a moderately priced carpet steam cleaner that delivers strong carpet cleaning power. It's very easy to use, and clean up is a snap. Features include 5 rotating brush heads, a bare floor attachment, and auto/upholstery accessories.
