I always get red stains out. I use amonia. I wet the spot with it, wet a white terry with it, set an iron on the towel and walk away before it makes you dizzy. On second thought I guess I should retry red relief so its safer.

I have the same success with Red Relief but having the wall paper irons is the key. Once they heat up you have no towels no mess.

I've never not been able to get a Kool-aid stain out with Red relief from Master Blend. I use it with a wall paper steam Iron. If the client has these stains I charge them between $25.00 - $50.00 per stain. I let the client know that I won't charge them if it doesn't come out.
If they want me to do it I bring the wall paper Iron in first and get it going. It takes a while to heat up. I can clean in another area and do the transfer at the same time. Be careful till you get used to the process. I refer to this process as being separate from cleaning and have had clients and insurance companies have me come out to do a few heat transfers. It is really easy and a good money maker. Best of luck. |

I think Red-Out can take most kool-aid red stain out. Why this one is so tough?

I do the same. I also offer an hourly rate if there is an overwhelming number of stains.

Start out high and watch for the signs of shock. It is easier to move someone to a less expensive solution than move up to a higher one. Try $35 per stain with a max size of 3"x3", run the numbers and then present two alternatives -- higher number for stains alone, lower number with protection which would have eliminated the higher cost all together if it had been done in the first place. Urine, there is a different story.

I mixed Red 1 tonight and Power Gel by Pros' Choice and left it on the carpet without rinsing. Have you or anyone ever done that? The stains came out but now I am wondering will the carpet be OK. Should I call the customer and go back and rinse?

Assuming that the carpet is nylon, with kool aid stains, I extract as much of the kool aid as possible first. Next I pour an oxidizer onto the spot, place a terry cloth and hot iron on top. I let it sit for 20 seconds, let the carpet cool and repeat until it's completely gone. Get a liability release signed from the customer prior to doing this. There are no guarantees it'll come out. |

Put kool-aid in the tank and make it impossible to see the spot anymore. Less work, $.05/quart.
And the cost of the dye job - zero dollars The expression on their faces - priceless |
