the better question is how much are you charging to take out 30 kool-aid stains?

Start out high and watch for the signs of shock. It is easier to move someone to a less expensive solution than move up to a higher one. Try $35 per stain with a max size of 3"x3", run the numbers and then present two alternatives -- higher number for stains alone, lower number with protection which would have eliminated the higher cost all together if it had been done in the first place. Urine, there is a different story.

I do the same. I also offer an hourly rate if there is an overwhelming number of stains.

I think Red-Out can take most kool-aid red stain out. Why this one is so tough?

I've never not been able to get a Kool-aid stain out with Red relief from Master Blend. I use it with a wall paper steam Iron. If the client has these stains I charge them between $25.00 - $50.00 per stain. I let the client know that I won't charge them if it doesn't come out.
If they want me to do it I bring the wall paper Iron in first and get it going. It takes a while to heat up. I can clean in another area and do the transfer at the same time. Be careful till you get used to the process. I refer to this process as being separate from cleaning and have had clients and insurance companies have me come out to do a few heat transfers. It is really easy and a good money maker. Best of luck. |

I have the same success with Red Relief but having the wall paper irons is the key. Once they heat up you have no towels no mess.

I always get red stains out. I use amonia. I wet the spot with it, wet a white terry with it, set an iron on the towel and walk away before it makes you dizzy. On second thought I guess I should retry red relief so its safer.

You can smell ammonia in the Red Out type chemicals. If you have a carpet to experiment on, I would try it. Just a square piece of carpeting with a red stain you put on it, leave it for two or three months and see how that works. Just a suggestion.

Carpet cleaning is essential in our business I do agree. That bleach spot analogy in your jeans on the other hand I will have to disagree, I do restore carpet color in your carpets if your every interested.

Wow- this site has a lot of information. I look forward to reading more and more and becoming a better expert at my field. We are a shop-at-home carpet retailer in Oakland County Michigan and do not clean carpets however, I do spend a lot of time learning about how to clean and maintain carpeting so that we can share that important carpet care information with all of our customers who buy new carpet from us in Metro Detroit.
Usually when people buy new carpet from us they want to know the best way to clean and take care of their new carpeting. That is why we always try to find the most current and best information to help out our clients. Kool-Aid is a tough one I am sure, but there is a ton of very useful information on here that I am looking forward to sharing with the people who buy carpet from our company. If anyone here knows anyone who may be looking to buy new carpet or flooring in Macomb Oakland County Michigan, please feel free to pass along our information to them. Thank You http://www.CarpetGuysOnline.com - www.CarpetGuysOnline.com

He might very have some leads on who can best serve your customers with a top of the line service offering. Being that you are a retailer and not a cleaner Gus.
