or at least someone to cool me the f**k down!

It's 3am and I can't sleep. I had some DRAMA go on today and I'm really vexed about it. I was disrespected, insulted and forced to play the sucker role in the situation and frankly, I'm pissed  of BAD! I'm so pissed off because I did it to protect one of my contractors, even though I have no obligation to it but the guy I was protecting him from was the most disrespectful little prick I've ever met!

The entire situation is f**ked up! One of my contractors ran out of invoices so he used his former employers invoice. No big deal right? He crossed out the name on the invoice and put ours. But the invoices were so thick that it didn't bleed through to the other side! f**k! It gets even worse here in a minute but let me tell you the story first.

So the customer has a problem and calls the wrong company to set up a re-do. He then calls us and we set the re-do up and go out there on Wed. No-ones home. So we agree to go out on Friday. In the meantime the guy is calling like 10 different times to confirm his re-do appointment. I found this QUITE strange but thought he was just a spaz so I just blew it off.

My guy shows up to the house and the other owner is there. They've been friends for years so my guy was like "hey wow, you're out here giving an estimate too huh?" Then it starts. "Why are you using my company name and cashing checks under my tax ID?". What the f**k? This is where it gets f**kED UP! As it turns out the check was made to the company on the invoice and not to us. But my wife changed the name when she made the deposit thinking the customer just made a mistake. It's happened before. I have a really good relationship with the bank so they are really cool about little errors like that. One time a customer wrote payable to "amount of check" and wrote our company name in the "for" section, the bank still deposited it, no problem.

Anyway, as it turns out the entire week the clients been in cahoots with the other owner. He told them we showed up in his company uniform, with a truck marked with his companies name, etc. etc. etc. He had him convinced that we were committing fraud or something like that! The changed check doesn't help matters either!!  Of course it's all bullsh*t- the company marked van and uniform.

Here is where it gets f**ked up. The old owner used his employee records to run a background check on my tech and found out there were some out of state warrants for child support. The customer kept throwing this at my techs face and I swear my tech was about to hit him in the mouth. My tech is a single dad of 5 and he's been taking care of his kids for the four years I've known him... and I'm sure longer because I believe him when he says he's had his kids for 9 years. That's irrelevant though.

The other owner goes out there and does a pad replacement for the reappearing spot and he starts demanding money. I told him to go f**k himself, no one told him to do any work aside from the customer and the "fraud" charge was complete and total bullsh*t. My tech walked in there with one of OUR invoices already written up for the re-do so that gave him some weight there.

Anyway, this guy is supposed to be a friend. He demands $450 for the pad replacement. I told him to go f**k himself but my contractor agreed to pay him the $200 from the initial ticket and take it out of his check. He was convinced the police were involved and the owner was going to press fraud charges, which would have been dismissed to begin with after investigation but it would have cost him time in jail and money lost in the field.

My tech was PISSED at the customer for being a little sneak like that. Basically what the customer wanted was a refund for the "inconvenience". My tech told him to go f**k himself, literally. He cussed him out BAD which I do not condone what so ever but I can't really blame him at all. When the guys been taking care of 5 kids for a long time and someone calls him a dead beat father.. well, I would have smacked the sh*t out of him!

Anyway, the entire fiasco lasts about an hour and I agreed to pay the other owner the $200 on the techs behalf. The guy (the owner) was a completely rude son of a bitch to me. He hung up the phone on me when I was trying to explain this was just a mistake on the techs part for using the wrong invoice. He was a rude son of a bitch and he just ran me so f**king HOT! "I don't need to talk to you". What mother f**ker? I'm the owner, you're damn straight you need to talk to me!

Anyway, that's the part that gets me the most. Then to top it all off, he not only runs the card for $200 which we agreed on but he runs it for $220!! Yes! Why? I don't know. The company is doing bad? So bad they have to snake an extra $20 on a job they had no claim on to begin with?? Then he is going to talk to me like that? f**k him!!

After this the customer starts demanding money and saying we committed check fraud by changing the company name to ours. Now he wants his money back. I told him it's no longer our job and he needs to take it up with the person who got paid! The other company!

So. I can't sleep. I want to call this little f**k (the other owner) and tell him to either refund the $20 or I'll charge back the entire amount. It's not about the money by any means... this tech did $1400 today ALONE! It's the principle of the matter.

But on the other hand I don't want to open up a can of worms. If the customer tries to pull some check fraud bullsh*t, I may be able to get this a**hole piece of sh*t owner to actually back me up, especially since my tech and his son are good friends! His son kept telling him "dad, I don't think that's how it happened. Somethings not right. Why would they advertise one name then go out and do the job / collect in our name? I know the guy. I've known him for years" etc. etc.

The situation was f**ked up. If it was me in the other shoes, I would have said "OK, split the $200 with me so I can get $100 for my time coming out here". That's fair right? Nope! He wanted $450 for the pad replacement! What a piece of f**king sh*t! My tech told him "who told you to replace the pad? The customer. Collect it from him".

Anyway, my tech was scared and hell, he's a great producer! I told him I wasn't going to deduct anything from his check and took him to Hooters for some wings and beer. (I'm a cool f**king boss, I know :P). But I don't know. This extra $20 is just driving me up the f**king WALL! BAD! Again, it's not the money, it's the principle that he thinks he can charge whatever he wants on my credit card!

I should probably just let it go huh? That f**king piece of sh*t! Both of them! The customer and him! Rather than calling and saying "what happened", they both pull some sneaky sh*t, waste our time going out there twice then hit us with a bunch of bullsh*t once we get there. And the piece of sh*t customer not only wants us to pay the other company but he wants a refund from us! What a f**king piece of sh*t! That's completely out of the question! And that's AFTER he spent the last week convincing the other owner that we're mirroring his company even down to marked van and uniforms! He even said it in front of my tech "the last time he was here he was wearing your uniform and driving a van that had your name on it". That lieing piece of sh*t!!

Anyway, I gave my tech 100 f**king invoices today. He better fill back up when he gets to about 20!!

3 AM... Just breathe deeply.  When the principal of the thing keeps you up at night then it is not worth getting excited about it.

Maybe just call the owner back later next week after everything has blown over.

You said it yourself, it is only 220 bucks.  Not even a weeks worth of groceries.

Aren't forums great...you get to vent all that stuff.

I didnt quite grasp the whole story, not sure who all the players are but sounds like someone needed their ass kicked. That is what is wrong with society now, nobody puts a beat down when it is due!
