Good, but it is slow. IMO you would like a 360 so much more.

Well I spent the few days talking with, or trying to talk to the guys at hydramaster/drymaster. The head office would not sell to me, a polite but unhelpfull man there called Darren said they would not sell to me unless I was purchising 6 or 7 machines. They passed me on to one of their distributors, a guy called Scott Shannon, who I called three times over the past few days, and who has not returned my calls.I spoke to another guy called Carlos, who is also a distributor, and did not seem to intrested in selling to me....Given that I am looking to purchase 10/12 machines over the next 1/2 years, you would think they would be asking me for business, not me begging them.

Anyways I did speak with a VERY helpfull guy in Canada, he is the franchise manager fo a company called citrus-o, and he was REALLY helpfull. He knew there was little chance of selling to me, given that I am based in southern California, but still, he spent half an hour on the phone with me explaining the pros and cons of the rotary dri master, and the reasons why they prefear truck mounts over portable extractors, the failings of both systems and the benifits of both.

I think I will probably go with the rotary drimaster, and the cds or boxxer truck mounts.Hook up a 50ft hose, and keep a wand on board, just in case.

I will hold on to the advance pacesetter just in case I need to do some jobs where I cannot use the truck mount.

So guys, what do ya think, will this system do the job?

At least you have done some homework to find out what is right for you.

The simple truth is, there is no perfect machine or system out there. All have their place under the right circumstances. All have their good points and all have their bad points. All a cleaner can ever hope to do is review all the information available on each, and make a choice based on what things are important to YOU, not someone else. After all, you are the person that is going to be making the payments for the next few years. Your choice will determine wether you spend most of your time making money getting sales and growing your business OR be on a first name basis with the repair dept of the distributor who sold you your equipment.

So do choose carefully. The success of your business may depend on it.

Ken thanks again for the advice...I looked into the rotovac you mentioned, and to be honest the guys at hydramaster and the guys at rotovac were just as helpfull, and just as confident that their product was the best, but rotovac was prepared to sell, and to offer a trial, hydramaster will only sell thru their distribution network, who were NOT helpful. But the rotovac has a much longer dry time, and my business is based on quick dry.

What do YOU think of the drimaster set up I mentioned?

Thanks

Brian

I personally do not like the machine. It has many reliability issues to it, and it is a surface clean, not deep. It does dry fast, but only because the water only wets the carpet tips, not the primary back of the carpet. A 360 can deliver 1 to 2 hour dry times with my teflon glides on it, so there is a much more reliable alternative IMO.

ok....

The guy ar citrus-o did say that they needed to be well mantained, and he did say that a few times, so I can accept that they may have some issues...

lets say I accept that the rotovac is a better machine, why do your glides make so much difference to the dry times

And what is the best truckmount to go with them...

I hope to launch my business as a franchise late this year, I do not want a load of franchisees complaining about the equiptment, and cirrus-0 ron 34 trucks of their own and have about 25 franchisees using the drimaster, and the cds, so it cannot be that bad??

My glides are teflon, not cheaper plastic. They turn easier on the machine, which makes for smother action. The slots on my 360 glides are narrower than stock and produce faster airflow into the machine . This removes more soil and leaves dryer carpets.

There is no "best" TM. Most reliable are the CDS, PTO and Vortex units. If you have employees, they are best IMO.

If they have not tried better equipment and dont know about it, they deal with what they have. Better than nothing.
