You might want to bump that hose up to a 2 inch. You'll need the air flow.

Yes, I have a Mytee glide. I'm still deciding whether or not it helps clean the carpet in any way (I have my doubts), but it does make using the wand much easier.

I just put wheels on my wand and what a difference it makes. Not in cleaning, in using the wand especially on forward strokes.

Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

When you get up to 300-400 cfm, you'll appreciate the glide. Still, I wonder......

Glides don't really do anything for cleaning, just ease of use and drying times

Yeah, I know. I meant anything related to cleaning, including drying times. I've been doing sections of rooms with and without glides and testing the difference. So far the results are inconclusive. |

Are you using a hole glide? Those affect drying times the most

CF, First of all it is very obvious they we can both say that a truckmount can outperform a portable , that is not the issue. And yes you are right that it will be harder for a portable user to obtain and sustain a carpet cleaning business than it will be for a truckmount user. And of course like I stated previously I would rather own a truckmount than a portable. WHO WOULDN'T? But for those of us that are starting are business or are not in the point in our business's where we can afford a truckmount, there still is hope. Just like when you started off you owned a portable, maybe multiple portables. WHY...because at that point in your business you were looking for what was more cost effective so that your business could survive until your customer base was big enough to where you could justify purchasing a truckmount. And thats all I'm saying... You shouldn't SLAM others that are not at that point in their game yet. Why not let them know about how you made it through your trenchs with the portable. All I'm trying to do is offer hope for those starting off because more than likely it is rough for them right now, like it is for me, but I'm making it and WOWING my customers all the way to the bank while doing it or should I say WOWING them all the way to the truckmount . And as far as making it goes I just landed a contract with Best Western hotel for 109 rooms yesterday . Keep your heads up portable guys!!

Gotta start somewhere though, right!?! Its just a means to an end. The portable being the means and the truckmount being the end. Good Day guys, signing out, gotta hotel customer to go WOW.

If any of you haven't gotten started yet and want a TM later is buy the lowest priced portable.. $695 for a 10gal. Timbucktoo at Uncle Sams Distributing.. That other 2k put in the bank Toward the TM.. You'll be glad you did.. I was a fool for spending about $2500 I had saved toward a TM and bought a portable that advertised 200' hose runs.. It served its purpose but even 75' was a disappointment on most carpet types..
